Question about Pain Fellowship Application - LOR from PD who left the program
Hi all, I graduated from PM&R residency this year and am applying in the 2024-2025 cycle. My PD left the program this year, and I'm going to ask him for a letter of recommendation. My question is, do I need a letter from the new PD of my program? Or can the old PD just state he was my PD for the duration of my residency? New PD hasn't formally started yet and I've never met him before. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Best place to practice interventional pain
I'm still in residency but very concerned about the future of our great nation. It seems that my most productive years will be spent working hard (something I want to do) and paying high taxes to fund medicare/social security/pensions (several things I DON'T want to do) and on top of it being paid very little to do so... To top it all off the dollar is dying and the country is propped up on debt and I don't have a good feeling about the economic future. Does anyone have any leads... paxlovid and timing of steroid injection?
Anyone have any thoughts about the timing of steroid injection after taking Paxovid? Would anyone do injection while taking? Probably would not want them in office though as they are likely still infectious. Immediately after finishing? Or wait X number of days after taking Paxlovid? I told my patient to wait 1 week, and assuming that they are asymptomatic or clearly recovering at that point. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Post-bacc options
Hi everyone, excited to be a part of this community! I am 23, got my bachelor's from a top liberal arts school (Pomona College), working in tech as an international student in NYC (I am from Ukraine, been living in the US since August 2018). Do not find the tech industry meaningful, interesting, or fulfilling. I’ve always been fascinated by science but scared to pursue it. It finally hit me that I wanted to be a doctor (I had an epiphany moment when I injured my ear and was in so much pain... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
