Accepted to 2 med schools...seeking advice about PA now
I made this account recently pretty much just to get a feel for what the internet has to say about my situation. TLDR: i'm accepted to med school but struggling with the idea of work/life balance, passion, time commitment, etc. of medical school, considering PA school (change my mind). To give you the story- I am a senior double major at my university, 3.93 GPA, 208 MCAT, accepted into 2 med schools, one DO and one MD. Why would you receive a March interview now?
I know the answer seems simple, but I’d like to dig down a bit more. OOS, Secondary submitted in July. High GPA, MCAT 1 pt below a schools Avg, strong ECs. Question: If a school has interviewed hundreds of stronger apps, and has many people to pull from WLs, why would they invite people now to interview in mid March? What does that say about these candidates? Are their chances quite slim since their names were not drawn in the past 6 months? Is it likely they are fill ins for... Going hard VS protecting GPA (and the MCAT)?
Hello folks. I am a current pre-med junior with a decent GPA (3.8+) and I have 2-3 semesters left after I will finish this academic year. I have taken all general ed classes, intro science classes, prerequisites, and couple upper level classes. So I posted previously in here that i was an HYP URM (Black female from NY) premed with a low gpa hoping to use a good MCAT score to pull me up. I currently am in a two gap year position as a clinical researcher and am looking to up my volunteer hours. I have a bunch of shadowing, and research was what I did all of my academic career. Unfortunately no tear jerker story or explanation for my gpa it hovered around 3.5 all 4 years. I was hoping a fine MCAT would help, however I just got my... Lower than expected MCAT ((( but URM? How much of a boost does being a URM give me?
I am a Mexican gay male and when I was growing up my family had low socio economic back ground but around high school we moved up to middle class. So far I have a 3.85 GPA, MCAT is 510, volunteered 80 hours in a hospital, was the leader of the food pantry at my school and had over 300 hours of volunteering there, I am an RA, had 3 part time jobs since freshmen year, 2 years of undergrad research with a poster presentation and 8 hours of shadowing. 26 years old and a non traditional applicant. In light of Step 1 becoming P/F, should I reapply MD or take my DO acceptance?
Hello everyone, I am fortunate to be accepted to a DO program. I am currently waitlisted at 4 MD programs and waiting to hear back from a 5th. I'm 26 years old and a career changer. If I reapplied, I know that DO would be off-limits, so I would most likely need to retake the MCAT. My ECs aren't particularly strong but they were good enough to get me a good amount of MD interviews with an MCAT in the 81st percentile. Should I take the DO acceptance? I think I would be happy in primary... 26 years old and a non traditional applicant. In light of Step 1 becoming P/F, should I reapply MD or take my DO acceptance? (Source:...

PA vs DO vs DPM
Hello and welcome to my quarter life crisis. I have always thought I wanted to be a MD in the ED. After some scribing, I’ve noticed that they do less procedures than I originally thought. I like the hands on stuff. Now I dont know what I want and its stressing me out. I could try for DO, but the MCAT and I are not friends. I could try for podiatry because I like wound care. The third option is PA. More procedures than the MDs, was less responsibility and schooling. I am 26 so I want to this... PA vs DO vs DPM (Source: Student Doctor Network)
