Tough Decision
Hey everyone. So I need help making a tough decision. I recently got accepted into a masters program with an unofficial linkage with an MD program in my home state. With this 2-year program, I would be taking med school classes as well as a Kaplan course to improve my MCAT score. As long as I do well in the program, I would get an interview and hopefully start med school. But I’m torn because I just got an interview invite for a DO school that ghosted me for months lol so idk what to do. If... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

WAMC: 3.7/508, CA resident with good ECs
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I unfortunately got back my MCAT retake score today, and it is the same as the first time (508). More info below. I'm honestly gutted right now and am wondering if I have a chance at MD, or should give up and apply DO. I graduated undergrad in December 2022 and was hoping to apply next month. My non-clinical volunteering is low but I do have a strong theme of service from my work with the disability resource center from my undergrad. cGPA... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

I am looking for some guidance if I should take an extra gap year to build my ECs more since my score was not quite what I was hoping. CA ORM, from UC school, from central valley GPA: 3.85, science GPA will be about the same I haven't exactly calculated it yet MCAT: 510 (126/126/126/132) I am disappointed in myself, was consistently getting 130/131 on C/P and B/B during practice tests, but I am not sure if... Brown vs. Uconn BS/MD vs. pitt vs. BU vs. Top Liberal Arts Schools
Fortunately got admission to most schools applied. Difficult to choose among these top options: 1. Uconn BS/MD: pro: 8 years to MD directly although GPA and MCAT requirements In State low costs ~20k per year Close to home Could have research opportunities. cons: Lower rank than other choices Large class size, in class requirement rural campus, may stick to the local area for 8 years May lose the chance to top medical schools. 2 Brown pro: Ivy title visited school, like... July 13th mcat retake okay for 2024-2025 application cycle?
Hey guys! So I have my primary app ready basically - but I’ll be honest, mcat prep has been in the back burner. So if I push to July 13th, will I be too late for the cycle? I’ll make sure I submit all secondaries, etc so that I’m only waiting for the mcat scores. So my app would be complete for schools to review mid August. Is that too late or is it a pretty good timeline? I’m mostly applying to md schools! (Source: Student Doctor Network)
