My overall GPA is 3.5 (in my CHEM BA I HAVE 3.45GPA and Psych BS 4.055 GPA, Arts and Sciences 3.45GPA AND computer science 3.333GPA). Change jobs for financial stability vs. stay for stronger LOR?
Fellow non-trads, I am a 28 yo M looking to matriculate for Allopathic MD school, Fall 2023. I was an English/philosophy major in college who circled back around to science to get an MS in epidemiology, with 1 year of courses into a PhD in the same. I took an "extended leave of absence" (essentially for their records to stay cleaner) last spring, but will not return as I needed to focus on finishing out prereqs, take the MCAT, gain clinical experience, etc. My dilemma now... Do Schools factor ucGPA or SMPcGPA in their class profile??
Hi All, I have a question I've asked a few times on this site and never really got a solid answer. I tried to read through Med School Websites, but nothing about GPA reporting is clear. I know the medical school admissions process can be nebulous at times, but I'm really unsure about how med schools report their statistics for GPA and MCAT. If you have a higher SMP cGPA than undergrad cGPA, will med schools report your SMP cGPA and incorporate that GPA into their class profile? Is... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Unbalanced MCAT?
Hi everyone! I look my MCAT awhile ago, and was pretty happy with it. However, after reading some threads, I’m not sure if it’s considered “unbalanced”. I got 131/128/131/132. Would this be okay for MSTP programs? I’m a little worried after checking MSAR since I noticed that my CARS score is low compared to other accepted applicants to many T20 programs. Would I get screened out with this CARS score? Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Don't know what I should do. Need Advice.
Hey Y’all, I need some advice and this is going to be a long post so thank you to those of you who read the whole thing lol. I started studying in late May of 2020 in the hopes to take the MCAT in late July but when July came I did not feel prepared to take it so I pushed it back to January 25th, 2021. Honestly, I didn’t study the amount I should have in the fall semester and I regret that now but some studying is better than nothing I guess. I have been studying hard since mid December. I... When did you all start studying for the MCAT?
I plan on taking the MCAT early 2022 (or at least early enough to get applications in before the 2023 window closes). I graduated high school in 2007, and most of my college/post-bac career was not in the sciences (a lot of languages and theology, once upon a time). I started hitting sciences again late last summer and plan on getting prerequisites done by this year. IIRC, biochem will be this Fall, and I don't plan on retaking any Psych courses (last time was AP psych, junior year in HS... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Which school would be better for pre-med? USF or UF
Hey, I got accepted into USF, and UF decisions come in February. I've done a lot of research and a lot of people say that where you go doesn't matter too much as long as you have a good GPA, MCAT score, and strong EC's. Looking for advice for probable reapplication (DO)
Hello everyone! I am a current applicant (Asian, CA resident, 3.2 cGPA/3.15 sGPA, 507 MCAT>>> 512 Retake, 3000+ hours as a medical scribe, ~1000 hours as clinical research coordinator w/ no pub ). My school list consisted of 25 DO schools. So far, I received only one interview invite, which led to a waitlist =(. As I have not heard from any other schools, I have decided that it is time to prepare for a second application cycle. I'm pretty sure I need to address my low GPA to prove that... Possible MD Reapplicant (first gen)
Hello All, Currently applying this cycle with only one WL so far and no other II. I've started to accept that I'm probably going to have to reapply. I'm first generation and figuring out college/med school has not been easy to say the least. I have a 3.65 cGPA and a 3.56 sGPA (strong upward trend) on this cycle's application as well as two MCATs from the summer a 504 and a 505. (I know two retakes close together looks bad but I felt like my hand was forced because I had already submitted my... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Ubiquitination Exam AAMC Q Spoiler

Should I leave my BS/DO program and apply MD?
Hi all, I have been a part of a 7 year BS/DO program since I was accepted as a senior in HS, but now as I'm approaching the switch from undergrad to medical school, I'm considering leaving the program to apply to MD schools. When I accepted the offer, I was worried I wouldn't do well enough in college to have competitive stats, but now that I'm in my junior year, I have a better picture and now I'm reconsidering my decision. Currently, I have a 3.93 and a 510 MCAT. I lack clinical hours... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
