How do I increase my score?
Hey guys, I'm a week out to my MCAT and I have never been more confused. Truly I have never felt like more of a failure in my whole life. I've always been top of my class my whole life. My college GPA is 3.96 and I have always have done really well on everything I put my mind to. Im not sure what it is but I just can't do as well I normally do on everything else as on the MCAT. I was aiming for a score above 520. I studied content for about 2 months 8 hours a day, and then took my FL1 which... How do I increase my score? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

15+ years from now, how difficult will it be to get into med school? Avg GPA/MCAT thoughts?
I'm especially curious as to what adcoms think! Accepted GPA and MCAT have been rising steadily for the past few years. I'm curious how competitive the process will be in the future as it seems super competitive right now. Here are my thoughts: I think an ethical CASPer-esque section will be created by the AAMC, maybe added to the MCAT? I also think some research experience will become a requirement for most schools. ECs will become even more important. Avg age will go... 15+ years from now, how difficult will it be to get into med school? Avg GPA/MCAT thoughts? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

MS2 Nontrad Mom - AMA
Alright fellow Nontrads.. I came here a lot when I was applying and anxious and feeling alone, so I’m back to try to help out however I can! A little about me - I was originally premed in college but then I was out of undergrad for about 15 years before I actually applied to med school. I didn’t retake my prereqs but I did take a one-year postbac of upper level science classes (mostly bio) to show recent grades, get LORs, and prepare for the MCAT. Hi people, I question what schools I can be competitive at upon completion of my master's degree in biology next year and would love some guidance in forming my MD school list for 2020. Even naming a few schools would greatly help me. Here are my stats/resume briefly: In my undergrad, I graduated with a – 3.86 cGPA and 3.86 sGPA – 520 MCAT – will highly likely end my masters in bio program with a 4.0 gpa – I am a CA applicant, non-URM &: – have one second author publication in physiology... Practice/Diagnostic Test
Hi, So I am a third-year Neuroscience major here at UCR and obviously, I plan to go to medical school. Basically, I am posting this here in an effort to gain some criticism/feedback about a recent diagnostic MCAT that I took by The Princeton Review. In short, my score was 494. However, I have not completely finished the Physics series (2 more quarters), have not taken Psychology or Sociology, and I have not taken Biochemistry either. Barely Failed first 2 exams and i'm concerned about whether i belong in medical school
I'm a month into medical school and it's been tough for me to say the least. In my post-bacc, I did well and was used to memorizing a bunch of information that the professors basically told me that I needed to know for examinations. I also did decent on the MCAT, even though I took it twice. For whatever reason, medical school is not clicking for me. It takes me hours to grasp the material and by the time I semi-understand what's going on, it's time to move onto 2042892 million more... No Gap Year?
How viable would it be to not take a gap year? I wont have completed physics II and possibly sociology/genetics by the time I take the MCAT, and I want to obviously score well, but I also really don't want to take a gap year. I would self study for about 2 months. DO MCAT scores are typically around the 502 mark, so that gives a bit more wiggle room I suppose. How Much Do Medical School Rankings Matter?
Hello SDN! Strength of Undergraduate Institution When Applying to Med School
Hello, I'm a US trained MD (graduated in the 1990s) and am shocked how difficult it is to get into medical school now. Back in my day, it was common to apply to 6-8 schools. I’m a private practice attending (dermatology) and I’m reading the medical student threads out of curiosity and seeing that quite a few things have changed. How bad does a 518 hurt you post interview at T20s?
Seems like a ton people on this site have 520+ and a bunch have 523+. at some schools (ex. Penn) it’s barely above the 10th percentile. I think what happened is that MCAT scores have slowly started creeping up since the introduction of the new format. Is 518 becoming the new 515? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
