I just want to get the opinion of the SDN forum members as I think that you are the most knowledgeable people about this whole process without getting into too much granularity. Lost in med
Hi all! I'm pretty new to this, but am struggling with deciding how to proceed and was hoping to get some advice from you guys. Background: I (African American if it's relevant) graduated from NYU in 2017, sGPA of 2.8 (I know), cumulative GPA of 3.3. I sort of started to give up on medical school, partially because of my sGPA, but held out hope. I recently took the MCAT and received a 514 (127/131/126/130). After graduating, I spent a year working as a tutor and a scribe. Then I took a year... Lost in med (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Low GPA, have not taken the MCATs yet, just starting bachelors
So the long story short of it is that I recently got my AA. I decided towards the end of this that I knew what I wanted to do, that I wanted to become a doctor, specifically an MD. Unfortunately my GPA is low, mostly from having to retake math classes. My science courses are near perfect. Just a C here or there. My GPA is currently a 2.7. I'm transferring to begin my bachelors degree in the Fall. I'll be doing a Neuroscience BS. I haven't taken any MCATs yet, and I'm a year ahead of time... 124 CARS, am I out of the running?
I recently re-took the MCAT for the 3rd time, and got a 511 (128/124/129/130). My previous scores were 494 (122/122/125/125) taken on (07/17) and 510 (127/125/130/128) taken (01/19). I retook because of my first low CARs score on my 2nd retake. Having exhausted AAMC material in my 2nd retake, I used 3rd party CARS practice. I kept seeing improvements in 3rd party exams, and I was hitting 127/128 in CARS. Unfortunately i fell short on test day, and did even worse. Am I screwed? Applied too many schools?
So I'm kinda dumb. I had one mcat score from last year which wasn't so great so went I submitted my primary I applied to 32 schools that were low-mid tier. I just didn't want to risk not getting many responses because I was not confident in my scores and mediocre ECs (at least clinical). What to pursue for gap year job if targeting top-tier schools?
I originally planned on being a nursing tech during my gap year, but then I got my MCAT score and it was much higher than what I had imagined (LM 80). This changed the game for me as I previously thought I wouldn't be at all competitive for t20 schools. So now I'm wondering if I should switch gears to look for a research position since top tier schools look for that? Research is definitely a weak point in my application, if not the biggest weakness. Staying Focused During MCAT
Hi! I've started realizing a pattern with my practice tests. About half way through the BB section (the most difficult one for me), I lose some focus and stamina. Most of my missed questions from this section are disproportionately in the second half! I think I just get frustrated with the questions and also feel a bit more tired after lunch. I know I can do better if I stay focused. Does anyone have any tips on how to keep up stamina? My test is in a few days! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

On my last full length (NS1) I was running very low on time with two C/P passages to go, so I decided to skip reading the passages. I noticed that the questions were rarely requiring any passage information. So on UWorld for the past few days I haven't been reading the passages for gen chem or physics.
