First degree was a 3.2 GPA then I did a ~90 credit post bacc with a 4.0.
Scored a 509 MCAT last cycle bc of a severely stressful time period and test anxiety. Based on practice exams and UW progress I'm looking at a 52X score this cycle.

WAMC/School LIst (3.55 GPA, 520 MCAT), DI athlete
Hi, I graduated in May 2023 and am applying in the upcoming cycle. I am having a bit of a difficult time picking schools because my MCAT is more competitive than my GPA. During undergrad, I dedicated most of my free time to my sport, so I feel I don't have as many substantial extracurriculars as I would have liked.
Are there any schools that particularly like student-athletes? Which schools place a greater emphasis on MCAT vs GPA or a strong upward trend?

Best combination of resources for STEP1/2 + preclinical
Hey y'all I'm an incoming MS1 and I just wanted some advice on the best way to study/give myself the best foundation for the STEPs early on.
In undergrad, I would usually procrastinate, cram, etc. and did decent. Same for the MCAT, crammed for it in about a month and a half and also did pretty good on it.

Should I try to apply stateside a third time? or should I apply to the big4
Applied to about 15 DO schools, and was lucky to get on the waitlist of 1 school, but I don't know if getting a waitlist was due to interviewing with them pretty late (Febuary, secondary submitted in January)

Realistic chances of getting in?
I will graduate undergrad with a 3.2cGPA 3.0sGPA Biomed major and take my MCAT in May.
EC: 2000+ hours CNA, Scholarship chair for fraternity 2 years, Certified EKG tech, 50 non-pod shadowing hours. Start shadowing DPM next week.
Will be applying this coming summer and want to know what my chances are. Top schools are Temple, Kent State, and DMU.

should I take the mcat a 4th time? looking for advice
My MCAT history:
Sept 2022: 500 (125/125/125/125)
May 2023: 508 (125/125/130/128)
Mar 2024: 507 (129/125/125/128)
cGPA is 3.38, sGPA is 3.16. No upward trend, my GPA fluctuated a lot over the last 2 years.
Ive gotten advice that I should apply DO, which I plan to do. But I would also like to apply to MD schools, and I feel very strongly that this recent 507 score was a fluke. Had my bio/biochem score stayed the same, I would have gotten a 512.
