Realistic WAMC school list
Hey guys, looking to apply the next cycle. I recently took my MCAT and got a 518 (130/130/130/128). I focused mainly on research throughout my undergrad and now that I am in my gap year, I work in lab trying to get data out and publish. I have decent clinical experience both in a hospital setting and work outreach by helping out in a clinic in Mexico. I was wondering if you guys could help provide me advice on a school list and also what I should do for the rest of the year while preparing... Chances at a U.S. MD (any tier)?
Hello, I am currently a senior at UCLA majoring in biology. By the time I apply to medical school next cycle (June 2020), I will have a cGPA of ~3.82-3.85 and sGPA of ~3.68-3.70. I am taking my MCAT in January 2020 (aim is 510-515). I have been studying for the MCAT since March of this year since I am pacing myself and doing long term studying. I appreciate any feedback on my future application for medical school. No one in my family went to college (except for older sister). I value your... Chances at a U.S. MD (any tier)? How many secondaries should I submit?
Hi everyone, I'm having some trouble deciding how many secondaries I should submit. So far I've planned to submit 20 secondaries, out of the 31 I've received. LM ~71, WARS 79, 3.92 cGPA, 3.92 sGPA, and 512 MCAT (129/129/127/127). Got Let Go from Research Coordinator Job...
Luckily it was for financial reasons and I have a couple months to find a new job. They will help me find a new job in the university. Should I? I live so far and it would be extremely difficult to study for the MCAT. Or should I opt for another medical job closer to home and study? I don't know how strong the letter would be given how short I worked here... Then again I need health insurance. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

School list advice (high MCAT low GPA)
Hey thanks for any advice. I have a high MCAT (522) and a low GPA (just under 3.1, but upward trend and 4.0 in post-bac). I have what I believe are at the very least above average extracurriculars as I am a non-traditional student, and have already applied to my state schools. As you can imagine, these numbers put me in an odd place where I'm not really sure what schools I should be shooting for. If I try to apply lower tier I'm afraid my MCAT will make them think I won't go there, and if I... School list advice (high MCAT low GPA) (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How to stay calm/not let nerves get to you before the exam?
Testing fairly soon, but I wanted to ask the community about the best ways to not let nerves and anxiety get the best of you in the days leading up to the test AND during the exam. The last thing I want is for me to score lower than my FL average or significantly worse than expected just because I let my head get the best of me. Any tips and advice are always appreciated. International Student & State school (undergrad) - MCAT 524; cGPA 3.90
Hi everyone, I feel like I should clarify my two main concerns about applying to medical school before getting into my stats. 1. I am an international student (non-Canadian) but have studied in the U.S. since I was 8 (currently on a visa). I have gotten mixed responses from the internet about my situation some saying that having studied here for so long disqualifies me from being a "truly international" student and therefore I should not worry about having to face the... I have heard that the DO cycle is longer than the MD cycle. I am applying to two DO schools, Touro CA and WesternU CA, I have a 3.5cgpa, 3.45sgpa and 515 MCAT. Mid-Late 20's, Tech Sector, 2.5 GPA, 523 MCAT
Hello, long-time grad hoping for advice on what to do next. Background I did extremely poorly in my undergraduate studies, but through sheer luck, managed to land a position at a large tech company. From there, through a colleague's research, I became enamored by the intersection of ML and genetics. I decided that I wanted to further my education in genetics, and figured... Does anyone have any experience using the LizzyM score / can anyone speak on how indicative it is of your compatibility for a school? It looks pretty legit, but the list I got was different from the one I've compiled just from my own digging. I'm wondering if I should scrap that in favor of the the LM list instead. 08/17/2019 Test Date - Need Cramming Advice
So I am sitting for the MCAT for the first time in 3 weeks and I need a strategy to cram content. I didn't really utilize my summer as fruitfully as I would have liked to and have utilized many sources for content review, such as the Kaplan 7 Book Set (which imo was very demoralizing to the point that I put them all away) and school notes related to the subject I was studying for (ex. Intro Biochem notes for the Biochem section, Intro Psych and Soc notes for the Behavioral Sciences section... 08/17/2019 Test Date - Need Cramming Advice (Source: Student Doctor Network)

From the Caribbean
I'm quite distraught because I'm at a Caribbean school and I suck right now. I'd really like to be in the US but don't know how feasible this would be. 3.2C, 2.9S, 500 MCAT. What should I do? I now know the Caribbean was a dumb idea but I'm leaving after semester 1. Please young premeds, don't make the mistake I have made. I came to the Caribbean thinking I'd be able to overcome but there's simply no room for any error here. I should have worked by butt off stateside. DO NOT GO... 3rd time reapplicant
Hi everyone I know the cycle is well underway and I've already submitted 11 secondaries, but I was just hoping to get some kind of feedback about whether I should continue doing this or not because I've heard a lot of negative things about reapplicants, especially on this site. Some info: 4.0 gpa, 519 MCAT, good research experience with 2 publications (not primary author), ~100 hrs clinical volunteering and shadowing, full year of working as a clinical research tech, ~250 hours non clinical... 3rd time reapplicant (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Secondary Stress
I've recently applied for this application cycle and as of right now I've been denied, in review, or haven't been even given a supplementary. My cumulative GPA is a 3.73, but my science is a 2.91. My MCAT score is 492 (488 first time) and I really don't want to take the MCAT again. I've applied to 12 schools (6 DO and 6 MD) and I really don't know what I'm going to do if I don't at least get an interview. I've spent the last 2 years post undergrad getting my science GPA up, shadowing a... Secondary Stress (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How many "high stat" applicants didn't get into T20's?
So I've got a 3.9X cGPA, 3.8XsGPA, and 520+ MCAT. From what I understand, that makes me a "high stat" applicant. I was complete everywhere super early on, but haven't really heard back from anyone yet. As I'm seeing more and more interviews go out, I'm curious how many people with my stats or higher actually just don't get into Top 20 med schools. I have pretty solid EC's (I think) but to be honest my PS and secondaries were pretty rough. Idk what I was thinking when I wrote them. I haven't...
