Pre-treatment 68  Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT Prognostic Value in Predicting Response to 177Lu-PSMA-I & amp;T Therapy and Patient Survival
ConclusionsA greater level of PSMA uptake, specifically higher tumour-to-background uptake in the hottest lesion, may hold substantial prognostic significance, considering both [177Lu]Lu-PSMA-I&T response and patient survival. These ratios may have the potential to be used for PCa patient selection for radioligand therapy. (Source: Molecular Imaging and Biology)

The Role of PET Imaging in Patients with Prion Disease: A Literature Review
AbstractPrion diseases are rare, rapidly progressive, and fatal incurable degenerative brain disorders caused by the misfolding of a normal protein called PrPC into an abnormal protein called PrPSc. Their highly variable clinical presentation mimics various degenerative and non-degenerative brain disorders, making diagnosis a significant challenge for neurologists. Currently, definitive diagnosis relies on post-mortem examination of nervous tissue to detect the pathogenic prion protein. The current diagnostic criteria are limited. While structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) remains the gold standard imaging modality ...

EPR Monitoring of Oxygenation Levels in Tumors After Chlorophyllide-Based Photodynamic Therapy May Allow for Early Prediction of Treatment Outcome
ConclusionMonitoring of PDT-induced changes in tumor oxygenation is a valuable prognostic factor and could be also used to identify potentially resistant tumors, which is important in predicting long-term treatment response. (Source: Molecular Imaging and Biology)

Pharmacokinetic Analysis of [18F]FES PET in the Human Brain and Pituitary Gland
ConclusionsThe optimal quantification method for [18F]FES was the 2T4k with fixed K1/k2 or Logan graphical analysis, but specific binding was only observed in the pituitary gland. (Source: Molecular Imaging and Biology)

Re-examining What the Results of “a Measurement of Oxygen Level in Tissues” Really Mean
AbstractWithin this special issue, many eminent investigators report on measurements of oxygen (O2) levels in tissues. Given the complexities of spatial and temporal heterogeneities of O2 in tissues and its many sources, this commentary draws attention to what such measurements do and do not actually assess regarding O2 levels in tissues. Given this limitation, it also discusses how these results can be used most effectively. To provide a convenient mechanism to discuss these issues more fully, this analysis focuses on measurements using EPR oximetry, but these considerations apply to all other techniques. The nature of th...

Evaluating the Patterns of FAPI Uptake in the Shoulder Joint: a Preliminary Study Comparing with FDG Uptake in Oncological Studies
ConclusionOur study revealed focal accumulation of Ga-68 FAPI-04 in the shoulders, particularly in the AC joints, with higher uptake compared to the inflammatory-directed PET radiotracer F-18 FDG in oncological studies. As a result, further trials are warranted to investigate the potential of FAPI-directed molecular imaging in identifying chronic remodeling in shoulder joints. This could have implications for initiating anti-FAP targeted photodynamic therapy based on PET signal strength. (Source: Molecular Imaging and Biology)

Spatiotemporal Dynamics of Neuroinflammation Relate to Behavioral Recovery in Rats with Spinal Cord Injury
ConclusionsThe detection of dynamic spatiotemporal features of neuroinflammation progression underscores the importance of considering their timings and locations for neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory therapies. The availability of noninvasive MRI indices of neuroinflammation may facilitate clinical trials aimed at treatments that promote recovery after SCI. (Source: Molecular Imaging and Biology)

Quantification of extravasation and binding of PSMA-targeted nanobubbles by modelling the second-wave phenomenon
ConclusionsThe estimation of parametric maps allows the estimation and visualization of specific binding of PSMA-NBs in PCa. The incorporation of the second-wave phenomenon enrich our understanding of NB kinetics in vivo and can possibly contribute to improved diagnostics of PCa in the future. New Horizons in Hyperpolarized 13C MRI
AbstractHyperpolarization techniques significantly enhance the sensitivity of magnetic resonance (MR) and thus present fascinating new directions for research and applications within vivo MR imaging and spectroscopy (MRI/S). Hyperpolarized13C MRI/S, in particular, enables real-time non-invasive assessment of metabolic processes and holds great promise for a diverse range of clinical applications spanning fields like oncology, neurology, and cardiology, with a potential for improving early diagnosis of disease, patient stratification, and therapy response assessment. Despite its potential, technical challenges remain for ac...
