Assessing the accuracy of [18F]PSMA-1007 PET/CT for primary staging of lymph node metastases in intermediate- and high-risk prostate cancer patients
ConclusionsIn primary staging of intermediate- and high-risk prostate cancer, [18F]PSMA-1007 PET/CT is highly specific for prediction of lymph node metastases, but the sensitivity for detection of metastases smaller than 3  mm is limited. Based on our results, [18F]PSMA-1007 PET/CT cannot completely replace ePLND.Patient summaryThis study investigated the use of an imaging method based on a prostate antigen-specific radiopharmaceutical tracer to detect lymph node prostate cancer metastasis. We found that it is unreliable to discover small metastasis. (Source: EJNMMI Research)

Toward in vivo proof of binding of 18F-labeled inhibitor [18F]TRACK to peripheral tropomyosin receptor kinases
ConclusionThe present data show that radiotracer [18F]TRACK can target peripheral Trk receptors in human KM12 colon cancer as well as brown adipose tissue as confirmed through in vitro and in vivo blocking experiments. Higher TrkB versus TrkA protein expression was detected in brown adipose tissue of mice confirming a peripheral functional role of brain-derived neurotrophic factor in adipose tissue. Combatting the effect of image reconstruction settings on lymphoma [18F]FDG PET metabolic tumor volume assessment using various segmentation methods
ConclusionMTV depends on both segmentation method and reconstruction methods. ComBat reduces reconstruction dependent MTV variability, especially when log-transformation is used to account for the non-normal distribution of MTVs. (Source: EJNMMI Research)

Scoring system and a simple nomogram for predicting radioiodine refractory differentiated thyroid cancer: a retrospective study
ConclusionsWe demonstrated that a predictive model based on four factors has a good ability to predict RR-DTC. An index score  ≥ 10 points was found to be the optimal index point for predicting RR-DTC. Moreover, this nomogram model has good predictive ability and stability. This model may help establish an active surveillance or appropriate treatment strategy for RR-DTC cases. (Source: EJNMMI Research)

[18F]ROStrace detects oxidative stress in vivo and predicts progression of Alzheimer ’s disease pathology in APP/PS1 mice
Conclusions[18F]ROStrace identifies increased oxidative stress and neuroinflammation in APP/PS1 female mice, concurrent with increased amyloid burden midlife. Differences in oxidative stress during this crucial time may partially explain the sexual dimorphism in AD. [18F]ROStrace may provide a long-awaited tool to stratify at-risk patients who may benefit from antioxidant therapy prior to irreparable neurodegeneration. (Source: EJNMMI Research)

Effects of furosemide and tracer selection on urinary activity and peri-bladder artefacts in PSMA PET/CT: a single-centre retrospective study
ConclusionsIncreased urinary activity and higher incidence of peri-bladder artefacts were found in18F-DCFPyL compared to68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT. Effective reduction of urinary activity may be reached through forced diuresis using 10mg intravenous furosemide, which is especially advantageous in18F-DCFPyL PET/CT. (Source: EJNMMI Research)

Preliminary mechanistic insights of a brain-penetrant microtubule imaging PET ligand in a tau-knockout mouse model
ConclusionsCollectively, our data indicate that [11C]MPC-6827 uptake inversely correlates with MT stability and may better reflect the absence of tau than total tubulin levels. Given the radiotracer binding does not require the presence of aggregated tau, we hypothesize that [11C]MPC-6827 may be particularly useful in preclinical stages of AD prior to tau deposition. Our study provides immediate clarity on high uptake of the MT-based radiotracer in AD brains, which directly informs clinical utility in MT/tau-based PET imaging studies. (Source: EJNMMI Research)

TCP post-radioembolization and TCP post-EBRT in HCC are similar and can be predicted using the in vitro radiosensitivity
ConclusionsEUD-based90Y TOF-PET/CT predicts the metabolic response post-RE in HCC assessed using dual molecular PET tracers and provides a similar TCP curve to that observed in EBRT. In vivo and in vitro HCC radiosensitivities are similar. Both TCPs show that a EUD of 100  Gy is needed to control HCC for the three devices (resin spheres, glass spheres, EBRT). Observed absorbed doses achieving this 100 Gy-EUD ranged from 190 to 1800 Gy! (Source: EJNMMI Research)

Prognostic impact of an integrative analysis of [18F]FDG PET parameters and infiltrating immune cell scores in lung adenocarcinoma
ConclusionsA high TLR score was found to be associated with worse prognosis, while high CD8 T cell and TFH scores predicted better prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma. Furthermore, TLR and TFH can be used to predict prognosis independently in patients with lung adenocarcinoma. (Source: EJNMMI Research)

Feasibility of a drop-in γ-probe for radioguided sentinel lymph detection in early-stage cervical cancer
ConclusionsSentinel lymph node detection with a drop-in γ-probe is safe and feasible in patients with early-stage cervical cancer. Dual time point imaging in locally advanced head and neck cancer to assess residual nodal disease after chemoradiotherapy
ConclusionsDTPI did not improve the overall diagnostic accuracy of FDG-PET/CT to detect residual disease 12  weeks after chemoradiation. Due to differences in tracer kinetics between malignant and benign nodes, DTPI improved the specificity, but at the expense of a loss in sensitivity, albeit minimal. Since false negatives at the 12 weeks PET/CT are mainly due to minimal residual disease, DTPI is not ab le to significantly improve sensitivity, but repeat scanning at a later time (e.g. after 12 months) could possibly solve this problem. Further study is required in HPV-associated disease. (Source: EJNMMI Research)
