Myocardial glucose suppression may interfere with the detection of inflammatory cells with FDG-PET as suggested in a canine model of myocardial infarction
ConclusionThe decrease in the metabolic rate of glucose in the infarcted tissue suggests that inflammatory cells may be affected by glucose suppression through heparin injection and lipid infusion. (Source: EJNMMI Research)

Value of 18F-FDG-PET/CT radiomics combined with clinical variables in the differential  diagnosis of malignant and benign vertebral compression fractures
ConclusionsThe PET/CT-based radiomics and clinical –radiomics models showed good performance in distinguishing between malignant and benign VCFs. The radiomics method may be valuable for treatment decision-making. (Source: EJNMMI Research)

Sensitivity of an AI method for [18F]FDG PET/CT outcome prediction of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma patients to image reconstruction protocols
ConclusionOur CNN-based outcome predictions are affected by the applied reconstruction protocols, yet in a predictable manner. Image-based harmonization is a suitable approach to harmonize CNN predictions across image reconstruction protocols. (Source: EJNMMI Research)

Assessment of resting myocardial blood flow in regions of known transmural scar to confirm accuracy and precision of 3D cardiac positron emission tomography
ConclusionsSWPs varied widely in low end accuracy based on measurement of rMBF in regions of known TMS. 3D PET using82Rb and HeartSee software accurately (0.26  mL/min/g, consistent with established values) and precisely (COV = 0.07) quantified rMBF in regions of TMS. The Emory-Ottawa software yielded the next-best accuracy (0.37 mL/min/g), though rMBF was higher than established gold-standard values in ~ 5% of the resting scans. 4DM, 4DM-FDV, Ceda rs and Emory-Votaw SWP consistently resulted values higher than the established gold standard (0.71, 0.41, 0.66, 0.51 mL/min/g, respectively), with higher interscan var...

Dispersion-corrected extracorporeal arterial input functions in PET studies of mice: a comparison to intracorporeal microprobe measurements
ConclusionThe high correspondence of simultaneously intra- and extracorporeally determined AIFs and resulting model parameters establishes a feasible framework for extracorporeal dispersion correction. This should allow more precise and accurate kinetic modelling in small animal experiments. (Source: EJNMMI Research)

Reduced hematopoietic-inflammatory response and worse outcomes in patients with recurrent myocardial infarction in comparison with primary myocardial infarction
ConclusionsRMI conferred relatively decreased hematopoietic-inflammatory activation compared with PMI. Patients with RMI presented subsequent enlarged myocardial scar, worsened cardiac dysfunction, aggravated remodeling, and worse outcomes than that in PMI patients. (Source: EJNMMI Research)

Threshold for defining PSMA-positivity prior to 177Lu-PSMA therapy: a comparison of [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 and [18F]F-DCFPyL in metastatic prostate cancer
ConclusionsOur data showed that [18F]F-DCFPyl-PET and [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11-PET provide comparable tumour-to-liver and tumour-to-mediastinum ratios. Therefore, a tumour uptake of [18F]F-DCFPyL above the liver background, like using [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11, can be considered as equally suitable for defining PSMA-positivity by a semiquantitative assessment based on the liver background, e. g. prior to radioligand therapy with177Lu-labelled PSMA ligands. In addition, our data suggest a tending advantage of [18F]F-DCFPyL in terms of lesion detectability. (Source: EJNMMI Research)

Noradrenaline transporter PET reflects neurotoxin-induced noradrenaline level decrease in the rat hippocampus
Conclusions[11C]MRB PET may be used as an in vivo biomarker of noradrenaline concentrations in the hippocampus of the neurodegenerating brain. Further studies appear warranted to extend its applicability to AD studies. (Source: EJNMMI Research)

Fc-engineered monoclonal antibodies to reduce off-target liver uptake
ConclusionAntibodies with reduced binding to Fc γR display lower liver accumulation and better tumor-to-liver ratios. These findings need to be taken into account to improve antibody-based theragnostic approaches. (Source: EJNMMI Research)
