Knowledge and attitude of healthcare prescribers and pharmacists toward antimicrobial stewardship program and the barriers for its implementation
ConclusionDespite the reasonable knowledge and the positive attitude toward the ASP, several barriers were reported, particularly by the pharmacists. Therefore, promoting the presence of adequately skilled healthcare personnel, creating easily accessible online courses, and establishing a comprehensive database of ASP resources are all suggested approaches to improve the application of ASP in healthcare settings. Factors Affecting Performance on a Screening Tool in Persons with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
This study examined the relationship between performance of the ALS-Cognitive Behavioral Screen (ALS-CBS) and the demographic parameters of sex, education, time post–ALS diagnosis, and severity of symptoms. Data were collected retrospectively from 69 participants seen at the Mayo Clinic. Correlations were conducted on the ALS-CBS total scores and subsection scores and the above listed parameters; t-tests were conducted between participant subgroups. No statistically significant relationships or differences occurred between the ALS-CBS or its subsections and the variables measured with exception of age and the attention s...

A randomized first-in-human phase I trial of differentially adjuvanted Pfs48/45 malaria vaccines in Burkinabé adults
CONCLUSION All formulations were safe and well tolerated in a malaria-endemic area of Africa in healthy adults. The ProC6C-AlOH/Matrix-M vaccine elicited the highest levels of functional antibodies, meriting further investigation.TRIAL REGISTRATION Pan-African Clinical Trials Registry (https://pactr.samrc.ac.za) PACTR202201848463189.FUNDING The study was funded by the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (grant RIA2018SV-2311). A preliminary analysis of the effect of individual differences on cognitive performance in young companion dogs
In this study, companion dogs under 12 months of age were tested once on two tasks purported to measure aspects of executive function: the delayed-search task (DST) and the detour reversal task (DRT). Owners also filled out the Canine Behavioral Assessment and Research Questionnaire (C-BARQ) to evaluate how temperament influenced task performance. Contrary to prior research, performance did not improve with age on either task. However, the lack of age effects was likely the result of small sample sizes and individual differences across other factors influencing performance. Specifically, temperament differences as measured...
