Are the elements zinc, copper, magnesium, and rubidium related to nutrition and iodine deficiency in pregnant Bulgarian women from iodine deficient region?
CONCLUSION: The high Cu levels were associated with subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) and less pulse consumption during pregnancy in an iodine deficiency endemic area. SCH was found in 24% of the pregnant women in such an area while in 13% of them SCH had progressed to overt hypothyroidism.PMID:38669155 | DOI:10.21101/cejph.a7796 (Source: Central European Journal of Public Health)

2D Conjugated Metal-Organic Frameworks Bearing Large Pore Apertures and Multiple Active Sites for High-Performance Aqueous Dual-Ion Batteries
Angew Chem Int Ed Engl. 2024 Apr 26:e202405168. doi: 10.1002/anie.202405168. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACT2D conjugated metal-organic frameworks (2D c-MOFs) with large pore sizes and high surface areas are advantageous for adsorbing iodine species to enhance the electrochemical performance of aqueous dual-ion batteries (ADIBs). However, most of the reported 2D c-MOFs feature microporous structures, with few examples exhibiting mesoporous characteristics. Herein, we developed two mesoporous 2D c-MOFs, namely PA-TAPA-Cu-MOF and PA-PyTTA-Cu-MOF, using newly designed arylimide based multitopic catechol ligands (6OH-PA-TAPA an...

PARP-Targeted Radiotheranostics with Auger Electrons: An Updated Overview
Curr Issues Mol Biol. 2024 Mar 31;46(4):3039-3049. doi: 10.3390/cimb46040190.ABSTRACTAuger electrons (AEs) represent an intriguing topic in the field of radionuclide therapy. They are emitted by several radionuclides commonly used in nuclear medicine (indium-111, iodine-123, iodine-125), allowing for highly localized energy deposition and thus exerting a radiotoxic effect on specific cellular and sub-cellular targets. However, due to their short range in matter, AEs have had limited use in therapeutic applications so far. In recent years, the synthesis of various radiopharmaceuticals capable of binding to the enzyme poly(A...
