Pregnancy-associated changes in urinary uromodulin excretion in chronic hypertension
CONCLUSIONS: In summary, we demonstrate pregnancy-associated differences in urinary uromodulin: creatinine ratio and uromodulin excretion rate between chronic hypertensive and normotensive pregnancies. Further research is needed to fully understand uromodulin physiology in human pregnancy and establish uromodulin's potential as a biomarker for renal adaptation and renal function in pregnancy.PMID:38236469 | DOI:10.1007/s40620-023-01830-6 (Source: Journal of Nephrology)

Anti-inflammatory and antinociceptive effects of sitagliptin in animal models and possible mechanisms involved in the antinociceptive activity
CONCLUSIONS: : NO/cGMP/KATP, 5HT3 and D2 pathways play an important role in the antinociceptive effect of sitagliptin. Additionally significant anti-inflammatory effects observed in the carrageenan test might contribute in reduction of pain response in the second phase of the formalin test.PMID:38123184 | DOI:10.3344/kjp.23262 (Source: Korean Journal of Pain)

COVISHIELD vaccine-induced thyroiditis: a case report
ConclusionThis case report adds to the growing evidence of coronavirus disease 2019 vaccine-related thyroid issues. The development of thyroiditis is rare and underreported post-coronavirus disease 2019 vaccination; hence, research to evaluate the association of coronavirus disease 2019 vaccines with thyroid dysfunction needs to be done in the future. Randomized controlled trial of propranolol on social communication and anxiety in children and young adults with autism spectrum disorder
ConclusionsPropranolol did not impact social interaction measures or language, but there were indications of a beneficial effect for anxiety. This will need confirmation in a larger multicenter trial, monitoring markers or characteristics to identify those participants most likely to respond to propranolol for anxiety, and determine whether there is a subset of participants that are responsive for other previously reported outcomes. Reply letter to the letter to the editor entitled: “5-mthf enhances the portal pressure reduction achieved with propranolol in patients with cirrhosis: a randomized placebo-controlled trial: was an accurate statistical analysis performed?”
We thank Dr Fernandez-Garza for the interest in our work and for his comments on the statistical analysis. He underlines that our intention-to-treat analysis (ITT) did not include all planned randomized patients (30 per group) and that we do not explain why [1]. We would like to clarify this point.
