Vascular Surgery Fellow Grants/Funding
Dilemma - I graduated Gen Surg from a program that provides their vascular fellows with everything. I joined (happily) a different vascular surgery program as a new fellow. Only problem is that we are expected to pay for RPVI training (900), lead (1300!!!), loupes, VESAP etc. Does anyone know of any resources I can tap to help pay for this? I moved 5 states away and had to use my savings for that. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Non BSO-18 Board Certification Funding
Does anyone know where to get the documents necessary to request reimbursement for board certification fees? The links do not seem to work on the Navy site: Navy Medicine > Naval Medical Leader and Professional Development Command > Command > Non-BSO 18 Funding (Source: Student Doctor Network)

International Student Funding (MD)
Hello, I was recently admitted to one of my top MD programs. They mentioned that there was sources for international funding however, I have found this to be false. I am now in a dilemma where I have to give up my seat because I cannot find a US co-signer (I have no family here) nor am I able to secure private loans with my citizenship. Any advice would help at this point. I've worked so hard to be able to get into this school and it pains me to watch my dreams disappear. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Hopkins vs Harvard
Hi everyone, I am in the very fortunate position of choosing between Hopkins and Harvard, a decision I never even thought I would have the privilege of at the beginning this application cycle. I only qualify for loans on the need-based side and was told by almost everyone that Harvard and Hopkins give out zero to very little merit-aid, but somehow Hopkins found some merit scholarship funding for me and was so kind as to offer almost 50% tuition. I'm still waiting on Harvard. Harvard... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Medical college of Wisconsin vs Saint Louis Uni
I am conflicted between these two programs. Costs for both are essentially the same. I am potentially interested in EM, Cardiology, and Derm but I am keeping my mind open to other fields as well. As of right now, I am leaning more towards MCW due to the higher NIH funding which I would assume translates to more research opportunities. MCW also has a scholarly pathways track that I am interested in. I'm also waitlisted at UC Davis which I would choose over these two programs...but alas I have... USF (Core) vs. UCF
USFPros Better Ranked (Research ranking is 46 vs UCF’s 87, PD ranking is 67 vs. UCF’s 102) Solid partnerships with Tampa General Hospital and other surrounding hospitals/clinics New medical school building in downtown Tampa (opened 2 years ago) Way better research opportunities and research funding Scholarly Concentrations Program is cool. Biomedical Research concentration helps with getting involved with research and getting published Nice location in... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

RowanSOM vs PCOM
Hello everyone!! I’m posting here because I’m having a hard time deciding between RowanSOM and PCOM. Obviously they are both osteopathic but does anyone know something specific about these schools that may sway me one way or the other? For reference, I’ve been doing my undergrad in Philadelphia and have grown to love the city but have heard the lesser tuition and better funding are strong reasons to choose Rowan. RowanSOM Pros In-state tuition State school Cons ... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Prosthodontics residency as a foreign student
Hey guys, I am a British dentist looking to enrol onto a Prosthodontics residency in USA with the intention of returning back to the UK after completion of the programme. Which schools have good reputation for Prostho training without being extortionately priced. I would be self funding the course from personal savings so need to select a programme which is decent and cost of living will be reasonable as well. I simply cannot afford the likes of UCLA, NYU, Michigan and UPenn. From my... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

What are the REAL T10 medical schools by reputation/training/research opportunities?
So, obviously, the US News rankings are utter nonsense (Stanford at #8, WashU at #11, UChicago at #20 lmao, etc). I'm wondering what the actual "T10" medical institutions are by reputation, research opportunities for students, NIH funding, history, clinical training, etc. There will definitely be variation from person to person but, generally, I'm wondering what the consensus is. From what I've gathered, these are the consensus T10 academic powerhouses in medicine. Definitely T10: UCSF... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
