Deciding authorship beforehand: Does this actually work?
I’ve repeatedly seen a lot of people say that authorship order is best determined at the start of a manuscript process, but over 80+ articles with lots of different people, I’ve almost never seen it work. What people do in reality is often very different than what they plan to do, not out of any sort of malice, but just because availability and interest is fluid. I’ve actually seen it backfire a fair bit. For example, I have one article where I did 98% of the work—IRB, funding the study, all... Deciding authorship beforehand: Does this actually work? Canadian-friendly MD/PhD & Funding?
Hi I'm Canadian and considering applying to the US if I don't get in to Canadian schools this cycle. Is anyone aware of MD/PhD programs that provide some funding for international students? I would have no way to afford US tuition w/o some funding and I don't have parental support for a large loan. NHSC SUD assistance for pharmacists
I wanted to post and let people know that I just received notification today that I was awarded NHSC loan repayment assistance for the 2020 SUD application cycle as a pharmacist. Other than in those states that have adopted a state LRP program that matches NHSC funding dollars, this is the only way pharmacists can qualify for NHSC LRP funding. We are excluded from the NHSC primary care LRP. There wasn't a lot of guidance I could find out there for pharmacists, so I thought I would post to... resigned from 1st residency for pathology, now miserable in pathology and want to go back to clinical medicine, any chance?
I started my intern year in IM after medical school but resigned before finishing the year to pursue pathology. I matched into pathology the following year and now am even more miserable and I want to do something with patients such as occupational medicine. I know these are major black marks now but is this still possible for someone like me? I am specifically wondering about the funding issues but also just curious what other advice people have to offer. I don't see a lot of information... resigned from 1st residency for pathology, now miserable in pathology and want to go back to clinical medicine, any chance? (Source:...

Rutgers School Psychology Psy.D
Hi all, I'm applying to several grad programs in school psychology this fall, and I'm considering Rutgers University School Psychology Psy.D program. It'd great to hear some honest reviews about the program. How competitive is it to get in? How well does it prepare someone who is interested in working in both the school system and other clinical settings (e.g., hospitals, clinics)? Is there funding for PsyD students? Thank you in advance and stay safe! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Clinician Scientist K08 Grant Number Declines Over Last Decade
First- sorry for the poor image quality. Second- I am not an expert on this subject, and I'm sure there are aspects of these funding mechanisms I'm missing or not privy to. This is a screen grab of a graph I made on the change in percentage of K08 grants (Clinician Investigator Awards) between 2009 and 2018 by institute and in aggregate. Data source is table 110 from the NIH RePORT, linked below. Bottom Line: % Change in number of transitional awards... Dental schools are ridiculous...
I might shake the table with this one, but why are most pre dents and dental students so incompetent when it comes to the pricing of dental school and basic personal finance? I feel like it isn’t talked about enough and it’s getting out of hand. I think it’s disgusting how these schools can get away with charging so much. Schools are raising their prices faster than inflation and they try to justify this by saying they lost state funding but even with the increase of state funding the past...
