Easy conversion perovskite fluorides KCo < sub > 1- < em > x < /em > < /sub > Fe < sub > < em > x < /em > < /sub > F < sub > 3 < /sub > for efficient oxygen evolution reaction
Chem Commun (Camb). 2024 Mar 26. doi: 10.1039/d4cc00839a. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTHerein, we report an easily oxidized Co-Fe perovskite fluoride as an efficient catalyst for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER). In situ Raman spectroscopy showed that the presence of F promotes reconstruction to form highly active (Co3+Fe3+)OOH, and the current density of 10 mA cm-2 can be achieved at the overpotential of only 118 mV in 1 M KOH aqueous solution. This work helps to understand the role of fluoride during the OER.PMID:38530667 | DOI:10.1039/d4cc00839a (Source: Chemical Communications)

Efficacy of a stannous fluoride dentifrice for relieving dentinal hypersensitivity in Chinese population: an 8-week randomized clinical trial
ConclusionsAll groups demonstrated statistically significant improvements in Schiff score, tactile threshold and OHRQoL. However, due to a possible placebo effect in the negative control, there were no statistically significant differences between the dentifrices.Clinical relevanceThis study adds to the growing research exploring why the placebo effect is a common phenomenon in DH studies.Trial registration: ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT04950465. Indicators of Malnutrition Among School-Going Children in an Eastern State (West Bengal) of India
This study identified determinants of malnutrition among school children in West Bengal, India. A total of 896 children aged between 4 and 13 years in eight districts were evaluated. BMI, weight, and height-for-age z-scores were used to categorize the stages of malnutrition. The study results revealed that the average height of the boys and girls was as per the standards set by the National Council of Health Sciences. Body mass index of the children ranged between 14.4 and 21.42 kg/m2, and stunting was 56.77%. Age and stunting were positively correlated in 5- to 10-year-old children. The most common deficiency was of fluor...

Ion-selective response of visible light photoswitchable indole-hemithioindigo: toward chemical sensing of fluoride and hydroxide
Chem Commun (Camb). 2024 Mar 22. doi: 10.1039/d4cc00780h. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe chemical sensing of hydrophilic anions such as F- and OH- is of significant importance but also presents considerable challenges. Herein, the thermal E to Z isomerization of a visible-light-responsive photoswitch (HTI-In) is utilized to address this challenge for the first time. The isomerization of HTI-In is dependent on the concentration of F- and OH-, and exhibits excellent selectivity toward F- and OH- over other common anions and cations. Unlike irreversible chemodosimeters and other conventional fluorescent probes, the photody...

Biodiesel production from the Scenedesmus sp. and utilization of pigment from de-oiled biomass as sensitizer in the dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) for performance enhancement
This study proposes two DSSC test models, i.e., PVDF (Polyvinylidene fluoride) - bound cell and cell without any PVDF binder. For the PVDF-coated DSSC, the average energy conversion efficiency reached about 14.3%, the open circuit voltage was 0.55 V, and the short circuit current was 144.5 mA. The unbound cells showed a reduction in efficiency, voltage, and current, and notably efficiency of 10.44% on day 1 was decreased to 3.32%, and the open circuit voltage and short circuit current of 0.38V and 144mA were decreased to 0.24V and 130 mA after 10 days, under 40 mW/cm2 input power. The PVDF-coated solar cell has maintained ...
