H-1b Spousal Visa Work Restrictions
Hi all, I am coming to the US for a fellowship and hoping to get an H-1b Visa. My spouse is coming with me, and we are very torn because it seems that he can't work. From my understanding, the H4 visa means you can't work, unless you get an employment authorization, which can be given if the H-1b holder applied for green card, or if the H-1b holder "Has been granted H-1B status under sections 106(a) and (b) of the American Competitiveness in the Twenty-first Century Act of 2000 as... Quitting Job with no 2 week notice?
I am going to be relieving myself of duties in the clinic that I work at and another job opportunity has offered me employment close to my sick mother (Stage 5 CKD) and my hometown. I work in a FQHC that is pretty much government funded and the dental clinic that I work in has just become far too political for any reasonable person to withstand. My boss is terrible, both in leadership quality, and clinical skills. Spoiler: Incoming Rant, TLDR below It all started when his favorite personal dental assistant said very... Extracurriculars
Would having 0 non-clinical volunteering in college be a hindrance to my application if I have 3000+ hours in research, 120 each in shadowing and hospital volunteering, and 1200+ paid employment(non-clinical)? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Future of neuro employment in relation to PE
There were 550+ unfilled positions in EM this year. Considering what private equity has done to EM (proliferation of emergency medicine resident positions via CMGs and the subsequent collapse of their job market, CMGs buying out small democratic groups, etc..), should we be wary that something similar will happen in Neurology? There has been an expansion of residency positions in Neuro in recent years, and I can't find data on where this increase in spots is coming from (I assume new... The Future of Pharmacy - R.Phs function as Glorified Pharmacy Techs!
There are many intelligent, knowledgeable Pharmacists on this forum. Question for y'all? I have been pondering the many threads on the job market, job security, pay scale, and the future of pharmacy practice. There is a disconnect with our education and financial outlay, and the type, and scope of employment that await the majority of our grads. In most every other country, pharmacy is a 3-4 year BS level or Technical level degree, with pay commensurate with the time and effort (and... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

WAMC | ORM CDN Applicant | sGPA: 3.96, 516 MCAT | Competitiveness for US MD
Hey guys, this is my first post on this sub. Was hoping to get an impression of how competitive or not of an applicant I'd be if I was to apply to the US the upcoming cycle. I've been able to attain interviews in Canada, but with no post-II success thus far, I'm looking to widen my net. I have pretty decent research/employment experience, with a clear commitment in music, mentorship, and service. I think the most gaping hole in my application would be the lack of shadowing experience given... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

MA licensure question
I was wondering if people familar with MA licensure can help me figure out the requirement for the postdoc experiences... I am starting a TT position in MA right after my internship. I was told that to accrue qualifiable post-internship licensure requirement in MA, I will need to see 10 patients a week and with additional 2.5 individual supervision hour per week by licensed psychologist. MA licensure doc, however, under 3.04 (9) states " Psychological employment, teaching, research, or... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

It ’s a tough time
3.8 & 516 with 700 nonclinical volunteering, 1000 hours clinical employment, 300 hours nonclinical employment, 350 hours research with a publication, good letters, nothing close to any red flags——zero interviews after being complete in august. Only thing I can think of is my writing, so I’ll be working to improve that for this coming cycle. Just crazy how things work out. I applied to 25 schools, mostly mid and low tiers. Only 7 were in the top 30. Just wanted to rant. Good luck y’all. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

How much time do we have?
As of today, plenty of job options. The going is back to being good, for the time being. How many more years do you guys think we have before we are all walking on egg shells where we can be replaced by the numerous number of new grads willing to take any job because they can’t find employment? At what point, if at all, do you think that a decent number of new grads will not be able to find adequate employment? I personally think we have 5 more years, i don’t think the market would be able... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

TeamHealth Contract Negotiations and Revisions
I’m having to transition from my current employment going to TeamHealth. In doing so, I have received their contract and have been reading through it. I’d appreciate any guidance and advice regarding contract revisions or changes when it comes to TeamHealth specifically. Is it a take or leave type of situation or is there wiggle room? If so, what should be changed? (Source: Student Doctor Network)
