Hospital Employment Inquiry
Hey all, I may be interviewing soon for a hospital-based gig (full time). Quick synopsis: - 25 bed Critical access hospital. Only 2 other specialty docs - both gen surg. Otherwise mostly ARNP family med types with 2-3 PCP MDs. - Previously had a full-time surgical DPM. When I inquired about that doc’s case deversity, the CEO told me mostly just amputations. - They now have a NON-SURGICAL DPM covering their podiatry clinic part-time (that DPM’s primary office 1 hr away at another office... Vesting period tail coverage?
Hospitalist here. Looking to sign with a multi specialty group. Contract states tail coverage has a vesting period of 6 years. In other words, if I leave for ANY reason before year 6, I would have to pay for my own tail coverage. Deal breaker or no? My goal is to have them drop the waiting period. But if that is not possible, what is a reasonable number of years? All of my prior jobs have provided tail without any required duration of employment with them. There is a small sign on bonus... Phone Intakes
I was having some spirited discussion with my local psychiatry team today and I'm interested in opinions outside of my local bubble. If you have a patient who's scheduled for a video intake but ends up having tech issues, do you do a phone intake or do you make the patient reschedule? Are there various situational factors that might change your decision (employment type, patient specifics, availability of next appointment, etc.)? I have been doing phone intakes with patients, when we're... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

WAMC/School list for International/URM/3.98/514
Hey y'all, I am planning on applying next cycle. Just want a second opinion of my school list or if there are any schools I should add or remove. Came to the US from Australia on a D1 sports scholarship, competed for all four years as well as overseas at a professional level for a summer. Currently doing my MS in Biology. Kinda stressed about my chances, I know my hours in some areas need to get up but I am working on it now. Am planning to try and get an employment based green card... New Job Best Way To Resign Prevent Bridge Burn
If someone is keen on the company, but it is not a good fit, and or non-work related issues, what is the best way to resign so people aren't angry. Managers have the ability to mark ineligable for rehire and it would be best to avoid that. At what intervals of employment would advice change--1 mo, 2 mo, 3mo., etc.? What reasons are kosher? Only applicable advice. Thank you and have a great day! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Should I count this in my AMCAS GPA or work/activities?
Hi, I recently finished a paid post-baccalaureate research internship where we got to do research and take graduate courses on the side. I took two courses while in the program (non-BCPM). The program director said we could choose to receive transcripts with our final grades and use it when applying to graduate schools but it is our choice. But ultimately, would I be required to put the grades on AMCAS or I could just put the internship under activities (research or paid employment)? Thanks... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Forensic PP work
Thinking about a career transition- I'm currently working at an AMC in a leadership position and am slowly becoming disillusioned with it. (maybe more quickly than slowly). I have some background in forensic work (forensic unit, court clinic, pre-employment evals for law enforcement). I may have an opportunity to return to the court system for a job (competency to stand trial and serve sentence evals) in order to gain more experience. Ultimately, I'd like to go into forensic practice but... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
