FTC bans noncompete clauses
Any thoughts on this? I personally am excited for this because the thought of someone telling me I essentially can’t work in my home city or elsewhere because I left their employment is disgusting to me. I’m glad it’s happening before I graduate and finish residency since that will give time for litigation to sort all this out. I’m interested to see if there will be some pushback from hospitals pretending to be non-profits, but who may not want a closer look from the FTC...

How long to stay at first job
I am a new attending who recently started working out of fellowship. Due to personal goals, I am now looking to move locations, but I am concerned about seeming flaky if I leave this position too soon. Why aren't we educating residents about.....
The difference between SDG, CMG, hospital employment?
At my "power house" 4 year academic residency, we received not one hour regarding this.
Is it that they just have no idea? Don't care? Want to push all the residents into academics? Are ignorant? Combo of all the above?
I worked a bit of moonlighting at a community 3 year program w ties to one of the big anti-CMG voices in EM, and they seemed to get it more, but jeez we are really failing the residents. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

HNR Block Military tax software (supposed to be free, but getting charged)
Anybody else using the the free (via Mil Tax Access MilTax Preparation and e-Filing | Military OneSource ), but then at the end, when you're trying to actually file, getting charged by HNR block? see screenshot

Backing out of signed employment contract
May be having a change of heart 4 months later and I don't see it it in the contract far but if I signed an employee contract through a big hospital system would I be able to back out without any legal repercussion? Wamc?
Canadian here. I wrote the dat a little late and ended up submitting my apps end of October. 20AA, 3.9 cGPA, 3.89 science GPA. Around 1200 hours of shadowing and volunteering in dental settings along with a short employment in sterile bay. One dental mission abroad. 4th quartile casper.

Hi all! Got the news today that I am waitlisted at the only other school that gave me an interview invite. I know I have to prepare to reapply, but I'm just not sure what I'm missing. I posted a WAMC on these forums a while back, but to summarize, I've got a 3.97 gpa, 512 MCAT, 1000+ hours of pretty solid clinical employment as an MA, and 100+ hours of hospice volunteering. Contract Ghosting
Is it fairly uncommon for potential academic group employers to completely ghost after sending over a contract?
I wonder if us mid-senior career folk are at a career disadvantage because we know what to question in employment contracts… and it makes some potential employers insecure. Or maybe the majority candidates sign without reviewing contract nitty gritty so they don’t want “headaches.”
