Only 6 activities on AMCAS?
Hey guys! I’ve been told I have decent ECs (aside from my lack of research), with my hours, length of commitment, and types of experiences. Nonetheless, I’m concerned with how it looks on AMCAS, since I’ve grouped many of my activities together (because all of the experiences in each category were similar). After grouping all of my employment, all of my volunteer clubs, and all of my food bank experiences, I have a total of 6 entries… I know most applicants have more than that, so I’m... Clinical Job Length
Hi, I have a quick question regarding paid clinical employment. I just started a job at as a technician at a local clinic and I plan to work over the summer to get a minimum of ~400 hours. I originally was thinking that I would continue doing this job during the school year as they are pretty flexible with students, requiring minimum 4 hour shifts as often as possible. However, this is easier said than done in between leadership positions, classes being in person at my institution this fall... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Clinical Experience as Medical Assistant – Specialty & Provider Preference?
So I've just recently finished an medical assisting program and I've been lucky enough to receive a handful of employment opportunities. As I have been evaluating them, I have had a couple of things that have been on my mind, which I am hoping to get additional thoughts on here... The main reason I am getting into medical assisting is for the clinical experience it will offer, and ideally, the development of a good relationship with a physician who could provide insight into the field and... Is rural clinical psych in demand the way psychiatry is?
I'm a college student, currently premed psychiatry hopeful, thinking about switching over my goals to Clinical Psych Ph.D. but still mulling it over. One big selling point for me about going into Psychiatry is my desire to live somewhere rural when it's all said and done-- set up a PP, do a little therapy too, etc. I've heard that rural areas are hurting for psychiatrists and so you can find more favorable employment arrangements, no shortage of patients, leading to bigger and easier money... Which of these Canadian Rad Onc Training Programs are the best overall programs from the perspective of US staff? [Poll]
Hi everyone! I'm a 4th year Canadian medical student applying to Rad Onc in Canada. I am currently making my rank order list, and one factor that I am considering is the prestige and overall reputation and quality of the program particularly with respect to the perspective of U.S. radiation oncologists as I am hoping to move to the U.S. for post-residency employment. So please select your top 2 programs that you would rank highly if you had all these options available. Thanks (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Disclosing mental health issues during pre-employment health screen
I just matched and recently got information from my new program about the onboarding process. The hospital requires that all employees complete a health evaluation which includes providing info about your past medical history. It says that if you have a current condition like depression or anxiety, you have to essentially provide documentation from your doctor that it’s under control. I’m on SSRIs for GAD, but I’m a hesitant to list this on here. I guess my question is, are there any... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

VA Pre-Employment Physical Timeline?
Hello! Just curious to see when pharmacy residents for the VA are typically required to go in for their pre-employment physical, what it entails, and if this requirement can be completed at the VA nearest to you? Just trying to figure out if I will be required to travel out of state in the next upcoming months if I were to match. Thanks! (Source: Student Doctor Network)
