Hi all! Got the news today that I am waitlisted at the only other school that gave me an interview invite. I know I have to prepare to reapply, but I'm just not sure what I'm missing. I posted a WAMC on these forums a while back, but to summarize, I've got a 3.97 gpa, 512 MCAT, 1000+ hours of pretty solid clinical employment as an MA, and 100+ hours of hospice volunteering. I know it's stupid, but I'm feeling so defeated about the whole process that it's hard to picture a path forward...

Contract Ghosting
Is it fairly uncommon for potential academic group employers to completely ghost after sending over a contract?
I wonder if us mid-senior career folk are at a career disadvantage because we know what to question in employment contracts… and it makes some potential employers insecure. Or maybe the majority candidates sign without reviewing contract nitty gritty so they don’t want “headaches.”

WRVUs / Productivity for Hospital Employment
Can anyone with experience being employed by a hospital based MSG group break the following down for me:
Say I sign a contract with a hospital for 2 years, the contract advises it will pay the greater of either a base salary $2xx,xxx or sum equal to wRVUs performed.
In the instance I’m seeing at least 25-30 patients a day with an estimated 3-4 days of clinic + 1-2 days of surgery, would it be feasible to make over 300k in the first year with wRVU productivity?

H1B visa residency, transition to employment
Hi there,
I was wondering what everyone's experience was in continuing their H1B visa status after residency. I am currently under this visa for residency, and was hoping to hear from others about how difficult it is to continue this visa after residency. From the current job search, most employers seem relatively uninformed about this visa but most have stated that they do sponsor the H1B. I know many of you don’t work employment but rather contract or locums. Do you pay your entire tax bill at once or do you have your group/agency withhold it throughout the year?
