Implications of anti ‐ganglioside antibodies in isolated dysphagia following COVID‐19 infection: Case series
We report particular cases of three patients with unexplained dysphagia after coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) diagnosis, who all showed linkage to anti-ganglioside antibodies against the NeuNAc( Π± 2-3)Gal as possible causes. AbstractBackgroundThere have been multiple reports about the occurrence of dysphagia after the contraction of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). However, a detailed pathology and epidemiologic relation between COVID-19 infection and dysphagia have yet to be established. Here, we report three cases of unexplained dysphagia after COVID-19 diagnosis, with atypical clinical presentations.Case r...

IJERPH, Vol. 21, Pages 591: Enhancing EQ-5D-5L Sensitivity in Capturing the Most Common Symptoms in Post-COVID-19 Patients: An Exploratory Cross-Sectional Study with a Focus on Fatigue, Memory/Concentration Problems and Dyspnea Dimensions
This study aimed to determine whether the EQ-5D-5L tool captures the most common persistent symptoms, such as fatigue, memory/concentration problems and dyspnea, in patients with post-COVID-19 conditions while also investigating if adding these symptoms improves the explained variance of the health-related quality of life (HRQoL). In this exploratory cross-sectional study, two cohorts of Swedish patients (n = 177) with a history of COVID-19 infection answered a questionnaire covering sociodemographic characteristics and clinical factors, and their HRQoL was assessed using EQ-5D-5L with the Visual Analogue Scale (EQ-VAS). S...

Burden of COVID-19 pandemic on tuberculosis hospitalisation patterns at a tertiary care hospital in Rajasthan, India: a retrospective analysis
Conclusion The study underscores the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on the TB landscape and hospitalisation dynamics. Notably, patient burden of TB declined during the COVID-19 era, with a decline in the post-COVID-19 era compared with the pre-COVID-19 era. Prolonged hospitalisation in the post-COVID-19 period indicates the need for adaptive healthcare strategies and the formulation of public health policies in a post-pandemic context. These findings contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the evolving TB scenario, emphasising the necessity for tailored healthcare approaches in the aftermath of a global health c...
