Internship/Residency (VIRMP) for foreign vet graduates
Hi everyone, I am in my final year of vet school from Southeast Asia. I want to pursue an internship and eventually residency in U.S.A/Canada. This has been my dream. But there isn't much information about foreign graduates matching. I still have a year to finish my vet school. Meanwhile, I want to improve my CV and experience cause right now my CV is empty. However, I am clueless about what to do to improve my chances of being matched and I want to do meaningful things that program... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Frantic about what specialty to go into FM, psych, Neuro, IM???? Need advice
Okay I'm a third year D.O. Canadian (need visa) with level 1 score of 428 (just passed) and 50-75th percentile class ranking and no usmle. Long story short I wanted to do psych and Neuro in undergrad and still am very interested in these subjects, coming into medical school I was aiming for psychiatry. It just so happens my psychiatry rotation elective is my last elective of the year so I have not actually gotten a feel for how the day flows, what the work flow feels like. But by May we... Canadian DO Applicant
I'm a Canadian applicant trying to apply to American DO schools. I wanted to know if its easier to get into DO schools rather than MD schools as a Canadian? I was also stressed over having a shadowing experience with a physician as it's extremely difficult to get one in Canada and whether my ECs are good enough. According to the AACOM GPA translation page, I have a 3.9-4.0 GPA, I have yet to do my MCAT, but my EC's include volunteering as a rec therapy assistant at a hospital, working with... WAMC for Canadian with weird stats applying to USMD
Hey everyone! I'm a Canadian applicant applying for the first time to USMD programs, and I'm in a pretty weird position. Here are my stats: Canadian Brown Male cGPA:3.8 sGPA:3.7 MCAT: 527 My main point of concern is that I had three B's in my first year in chemistry and physics courses and a D in second year in Anatomy and Physiology (I've been told I can write a letter explaining the D as I developed a pilonidal sinus before the exam which made me bomb the final exam) After these... Future of Vascular Surgery
I am a Canadian student hoping to apply to Canadian programs in Vascular and General Surgery with the option of applying to American vascular fellowships after GSx. Here, most (all?) vascular programs have moved to 0+5 model. I am wondering how things look in the US? Are you guys also phasing out the 5+2 model? Also interested in any info on vascular fellowships in America, I hear you guys have it rough in residency. I am in first year so a lot can change by the time I would be finishing GSx... I haven't seen any changes for requirements in the last year and was wondering if anyone else had heard anything? I'm scared for fellowship applications now if they were to change requirements... thoughts?? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

CDCA DSE Written Exam Study Materials
Anyone who has taken the DSE recently: are the online Quizlets reflective of the questions asked on the exam? I'm a Canadian dentist and have noticed some slight differences in what was taught, but wondering whether the questions will be tough enough to justify purchasing a review book or course. PEI/AVC or reapply?
Hi all, I need some help making a decision. I am a 24 y/o, non trad, first time applicant from california. I applied to a lot of schools in the states and didn’t get in ( still waiting on western). My cGPA is 3.3, sGPA 3.2, and last 45 3.54. My interest in wildlife, specifically marine medicine. I was accepted to Atlantic veterinary college (in PEI, Canada) and am excited about the prospect of going, but it would be more ideal to go to school in the states. AVC has a small class size and is... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)
