BWH abdo fellowship
Hey! I am a Canadian radiology resident interested in applying to this program next year. Wondering what the reputation is like or if anyone has heard positive/negative things. I think it seems great though my only concern is that some of the procedures highlighted on their web page are quite advanced (RFA, cryo), which are skills I would never use in my future general practice. Any Canadian dentist working in Canada or Australia after completing a 5-year Australian BDS?
Not sure if this is allowed, but I can’t find a megathread or a post similar to this. I’m Canadian and looking into dental schools abroad (particularly in Australia). Just wondering if anyone here is Canadian and graduated with a 5-year BDS (or know people who did) and is working in Canada/Australia? Thanks in advance! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Is there a world wide shortage of anesthesiologists?
I’m getting so many texts and cold calls from recruiters now for anesthesiology. Is this a problem limited to the US? Are there anesthesiology shortages in Canada and other places? If we don’t expand the number of residencies are there any projections over how long this will be a problem? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Retaking the MCAT and Applying to USMD as a ORM Canadian
Hi all, Just wanted to get some input into my plan and had a couple questions. For some background information, my GPA is a 4.0 (both cGPA and sGPA), and my MCAT is a 520 (130/126/132/132). Unfortunately, my MCAT score prevents me from applying to many Canadian schools, and as you all know Canadian schools rarely look at MCAT holistically (either cutoffs or only look at CARS, which puts my MCAT score in the 72nd percentile). Thus, I am planning on retaking late August. As for my... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

WAMC Canadian Applicant/Dentist for DO programs
Hey everyone! I'm looking to apply to DO programs this year. I was accepted to an Australian MD program last year, but didn't accept as I would like to stay closer to Canada. Aus MD is still my backup though. Looking for suggestions on how to improve my app (I'm working 50hours/week so time is certainly a constraint) and which schools I should focus on as a Canadian. 27M non-trad Education: BSc: cGPA of 3.98/4.00 Dental school (DMD): cGPA 3.78/4.00 Master of Education: Completed... If you do residency in Canada, pass American specialty board exam & practice in the US -- can you practice in Canada later with no Royal College exam?
Just wondering if this is possible? Do 5 year residency in Canada, immediately go to practice in the US, do American specialty board exam, and practice in the US for a while. Would the American board certification be transferrable to Canada later on or would you need to write the Royal College exam at that point? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Canadian USMD on F1 matched into a program sponsoring J1
I am a fourth year med student at a USMD that recently matched (early match) at a program that sponsors J1 visas only. I am a Canadian currently on an F1 and was wondering how to proceed with switching over to a J1 while I am still finishing up my med school (graduate in June) to be able to get my on-boarding stuff in order before my July 1st start date. How do I go about getting a SSN in time for on-boarding? Do I have to wait until I switch from an F1 to J1? Thanks in advance. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

AEGD/GPR option for an international dentist
Hello everyone, I will be graduating from DDS program abroad in 4 months. I am also a Canadian Citizen. I am considering the AEGD/GPR residency option as plan B option. I have many questions with regards to this to see if it is a viable option for me: 1) Which State offers dental license after 1 Year of AEGD/GPR? 2) I see some States requiring 2 years of AEGD/GPR but what if the AEGD/GPR is on 12 month period, then how can one bridge this mismatch? Can you extend your residency... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Wamc?
Canadian here. I wrote the dat a little late and ended up submitting my apps end of October. 20AA, 3.9 cGPA, 3.89 science GPA. Around 1200 hours of shadowing and volunteering in dental settings along with a short employment in sterile bay. One dental mission abroad. 4th quartile casper. Applied to like 18 schools. All private. Boston and NSU already rejected, but no response at all from the rest yet. What do ya'll think my chances are at this point? My top choices would've been, in order...
