Optometry School Requirements
So for most optometry schools, under their pre-req requirements, it says "one course" or "one semester or one quarter." I'm a Canadian student, what is the difference between the two? Also, for calculus, many of these schools want "one course," but introductory calculus is only offered as a 0.5 credit for a half term (one semester) at my university. Does this mean I will have to take another calculus course as well? Secondly, how are Canadian GPAs translated in America? Do they remain the... Read more (Source: Student Doctor Network)

cDAT vs American DAT preference?
Hi everyone, I'm a Canadian and thinking of applying next cycle. For the U.S schools that accept cDAT, do they have a preference? For example, lets say two applicants both got 22AA and one took cDAT other took american DAT, would they prefer the american one? Thanks. (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Combined fellowships
Hi all, I’m a PGY1 radiology in a canadian program and I hoping to get your thoughts on combined fellowships. I have come across fellowships that combined for example Body and MSK (with focus on MRI) or neuro and MSK etc. I might be naive but I feel like for 1 year long fellowships that are on a single organ system, your learning may plateau by about midway through so I feel like these combined fellowships are great to optimize your learning and be more marketable. Am I missing something? (Source: Student Doctor Network)

UMN (OOS) vs NYU (OOS)
I am a Canadian student so in terms of distance and tuition costs they are not too different. I am mostly concerned about the cost of living and therefore leaning towards UMN but worried about missing out on clinical experience if their digital technology is not as strong. Any thoughts would be appreciated! (Source: Student Doctor Network)

Canadian-trained GP/Internist working in the US.
Hi Everyone, Hypothetical question here but I'm wondering if anyone can share about what the process is like for someone who is a GP in Canada to go and practice family medicine in the US? There is a 2 year vs 3 year training difference and am wondering if this needs to be made up for in any way? Also if anyone can shed some light with regards to needing to write the USMLEs and how VISA is granted to Canadian trained GPs. Thanks! I'm particularly interested in California, Florida, and...
