A case of primary pulmonary angiosarcoma arising from tuberculous scar with fatal capillary bleeding
Angiosarcoma metastasized to a skin scar of chest incision. Key Clinical MessageThe etiology of primary pulmonary angiosarcoma is still unknown. Here we report a case of primary pulmonary angiosarcoma originated from a tuberculous scar and presented as aggressive deterioration with uncontrolled bleeding from capillaries with angiodysplasia. Propranolol monotherapy in angiosarcoma - A window-of-opportunity study (PropAngio)
Angiosarcoma is a rare and aggressive cancer of the endothelial cells. Propranolol, a non-selective β-blocker, was able to initiate apoptosis in angiosarcoma cell lines and its anti-tumor activity has been described in several case reports. The aim of this trial was to prospectively evaluate the anti-tumor activity of propranolol monotherapy in patients with angiosarcoma before proceeding to stan dard of care treatment. Ambient UV radiation is associated with cutaneous angiosarcoma incidence in the United States, 1992 to 2020
To the Editor: Cutaneous angiosarcoma (cAS) is an aggressive cancer of lymphatic/vascular endothelial origin that most frequently occurs on the head and neck and among non-Hispanic white individuals. Risk factors for angiosarcoma include radiotherapy, chronic immunosuppression, chronic lymphedema, germline pathogenic variation in the POT1 gene, and exposure to exogenous toxins.1-3 Prior studies of cAS occurring on chronically sun-exposed skin of the head/neck have demonstrated an UV radiation (UVR) mutational signature,4 but epidemiologic studies directly examining UVR levels and cAS incidence are lacking. Successful resection of a primary angiosarcoma of the azygos vein: A case report
Chest computed tomography demonstrated neoplastic lesion from the azygos vein to the superior vena cava. The radiological differential diagnosis suggested angiosarcoma or malignant lymphoma. AbstractA 63-year-old woman was admitted to our department for the investigation of superior vena cava (SVC) syndrome. Computed tomography revealed an azygos tumor extending into the SVC. Video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) was performed to remove the distal end of the azygos vein in the left lateral position, followed by complete resection of the entire tumor under median sternotomy in the supine position. The histological diagnosi...

Cancers, Vol. 16, Pages 688: Scalp Irradiation with 3D-Milled Bolus: Initial Dosimetric and Clinical Experience
Conclusions: To our knowledge, this is the first study to report the clinical outcomes for patients with scalp malignancies treated with the combination of VMAT and a 3D-milled bolus. This technique resulted in favorable clinical outcomes and an acceptable toxicity profile in comparison with historic controls and warrants further investigation in a larger prospective study. Combining nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel with camrelizumab in advanced soft tissue sarcoma: activity, safety, and future perspectives
Conclusion: Nab-paclitaxel plus camrelizumab exhibited modest activity and mild toxicity in treating epithelioid sarcoma, angiosarcoma, and fibrosarcoma. The overall effectiveness of this treatment regimen for advanced STS is relatively low. Further research on combining nab-paclitaxel with effective drugs, including chemotherapy and targeted agents, for these specific STS subtypes is needed. (Source: Frontiers in Pharmacology)

Angiosarcoma of gallbladder, a literature review
ConclusionDespite the unavailability of convincing data, histological and immunohistochemical analyses play a major role in the diagnosis of gallbladder angiosarcoma. Nevertheless, more comprehensive clinical studies are required to provide universal guidelines for the treatment and diagnosis of angiosarcoma of the gallbladder. Primary angiosarcoma of the Pancreas - A case Report and review of the literature
CONCLUSIONS: Pancreatic angiosarcomas are very rare and prone to misdiagnosis. The formation of a more demarcated but high-grade tumour with necrosis is a feature that distinguishes angiosarcomas from ordinary carcinomas of this organ. Pathologic diagnosis is also highly challenging closely resembling undifferentiated carcinomas. Angiosarcomas are highly aggressive when they occur in the pancreas. Prompt diagnosis at an early stage is crucial as surgery with curative intent serves as the primary treatment approach.PMID:38265358 | DOI:10.1080/00015458.2024.2309718 (Source: Acta Chirurgica Belgica)

Neoadjuvant Reirradiation for Radiotherapy Associated Angiosarcoma of the Breast
CONCLUSIONS: Our institutional analysis suggests excellent local control and survival outcomes for RAASB treated with surgery, neoadjuvant hyperfractionated reirradiation, and taxol based chemotherapy. However, major wound complications represent a major challenge with this approach. Future studies should consider how best to improve the therapeutic ratio while maintaining high rates of control and survival.PMID:38191096 | DOI:10.1016/j.ijrobp.2023.12.050 (Source: Cancer Control)
