Association of Lower Extremity Lymphedema and Nonmelanoma Skin Cancers
CONCLUSION: Lower extremity lymphedema appears to be a risk factor for squamous cell carcinoma, basal call carcinoma, and as expected, angiosarcoma. Clinicians caring for patients with LE lymphedema should be aware of this increased risk and monitor at-risk patients accordingly.PMID:37923522 | DOI:10.1016/j.mayocp.2023.02.030 (Source: Cancer Control)

Multimodal imaging features of retroperitoneal anastomosing hemangioma: a case report and literature review
ConclusionRetroperitoneal anastomotic hemangioma is a rare and benign neoplasm that may be misdiagnosed as ectopic pheochromocytoma or angiosarcoma. This case report presents and analyzes the imaging characteristics of a series of retroperitoneal anastomotic hemangiomas, which can be valuable for future diagnoses and help prevent unnecessary surgeries. GSE240260 Target gene regulatory network of miR-497 in angiosarcoma
Contributors : Annaleigh Benton ; Jason A HannaSeries Type : Expression profiling by high throughput sequencingOrganism : Mus musculusAngiosarcoma (AS) is a vascular sarcoma that is highly aggressive and metastatic. Due to its rarity, treatment options for patients are limited, therefore more research is needed to identify possible therapeutic vulnerabilities. We previously found that endothelial deletion of Dicer1 drives AS development in mice. Given the role of DICER1 in canonical microRNA (miRNA) biogenesis, this suggests that miRNA loss may be important in AS development. After testing miRNAs previously suggested to h...

Treating rare tumors with liver transplantation
Curr Opin Organ Transplant. 2023 Oct 19. doi: 10.1097/MOT.0000000000001118. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTPURPOSE OF REVIEW: The success of liver transplantation (LT) in treating unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has resulted in interest in LT for other oncologic conditions. Here, we discuss the role of LT for rare oncologic indications including metastatic gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs), hepatic epitheliod hemangioendothelioma (HEHE), fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma (FLC), and hepatic angiosarcoma (HAS).RECENT FINDINGS: Conditions reviewed have been documented indications for LT i...

Primary Angiosarcoma of Breast: a Case Series of Rare Disease
We report a case of PAB treated at our hospital along with 2 more cases of PAB we found on retrospective analysis. The basic criterion for inclusion in the study was the presence of histopathologically confi rmed primary angiosarcoma of the breast: graded into low (G1, G2) and high (G3) grades. Surgeons must be aware about its high systemic metastatic potential, atypical presentation, and diffuse nature of infiltration so that it will be diagnosed early, and undergo a margin negative excision with recon struction after a proper metastatic evaluation. Clinical and Imaging Features of MRI Screen-Detected Breast Cancer
CONCLUSION: MRI screen-detected breast cancers were most often invasive cancers. Cancers detected by MRI screening had an excellent prognosis in our study population. Invasive cancers most commonly presented as a mass.PMID:37821332 | DOI:10.1016/j.clbc.2023.09.012 (Source: Clinical Breast Cancer)
