Efficacy of short-term induction therapy with low-dose testosterone as a diagnostic tool in the workup of delayed growth and puberty in boys
ConclusionSIT with TTG appears to be more effective to induce growth spurt, better tolerated and with a more physiological effect on pubertal induction compared to IMTT in CDGP population. Finally, TTG might be a useful tool in the diagnostic work up to discriminate CDGP from GHD or IHH. (Source: Journal of Endocrinological Investigation)

Testosterone does not affect lower urinary tract symptoms while improving markers of prostatitis in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia: a randomized clinical trial
ConclusionsTwenty-four weeks of TTh in TD men with BPH and MetS improves ultrasound, molecular and histological proxies of prostate inflammation. This does not result in symptom improvement. (Source: Journal of Endocrinological Investigation)

Testosterone concentrations and prescription patterns of 1% testosterone gel in transgender and gender diverse individuals
CONCLUSIONS: One percent testosterone gel achieves serum total testosterone concentrations in the cisgender male reference range. A high proportion of individuals had a nonbinary gender identity and most individuals commenced a lower dose than that typically administered to hypogonadal cisgender men, potentially related to slow or 'partial' masculinisation goals.PMID:35296035 | PMC:PMC8918760 | DOI:10.1177/20420188221083512 (Source: Adv Data)

Testosterone Therapy for Late-Onset Hypogonadism Improves Erectile Function: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusion: TTh achieved a significant improvement in the IIEF-EFD score of hypogonadal men compared with placebo, especially in those who received testosterone gel, were treated for over 30 weeks, and had no comorbidities.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Incidence of gynaecomastia in Klinefelter syndrome adolescents and outcome of testosterone treatment
Conclusion: The incidence of gynaecomastia in KS boys (overall 35.6%) is not increased over typically developing boys. Commencing testosterone when gynaecomastia develops with physiological dose escalation and full adherence can result in the resolution of the gynaecomastia. What is Known:• Gynaecomastia is a common feature in Klinefelter syndrome men.• Hypogonadism occurs from mid-puberty onwards with the absence of the usual rise in testosterone levels. What is New:• The incidence of pubertal gynaecomastia in Klinefelter syndrome is not different from typically developing boys.• Early and prompt starting of testost...

P –612 Transdermal testosterone vs. Placebo (lubricant gel) pre-treatment in improving IVF outcomes in diminished ovarian reserve patients (POSEIDON group 3 and 4): a randomised controlled trial
AbstractStudy questionTo compare the efficacy of transdermal testosterone with placebo (lubricant gel) in improving IVF outcomes using GnRH antagonist protocol in POSEIDON group 3 and 4 patients.Summary answerPatients receiving pre-treatment with testosterone gel had higher mean number of oocytes retrieved and grade A embryos as compared to the patients receiving lubricant gel. What is known alreadyDiminished ovarian reserve (DOR) is associated with suboptimal ovarian response, higher cycle cancellation rate and lower clinical pregnancy rate following IVF cycles. Various treatment regimens have been devised for management o...

Therapeutic effect of prolonged testosterone pretreatment in women with poor ovarian response: A randomized control trial
CONCLUSIONS: Applying TTG in infertile women with POR may ameliorate the outcomes of IVF. The extended application of TTG to 6 weeks did not improve the response to ovarian stimulation regarding the number of retrieved oocytes nor pregnancy outcomes compared to the 4 week pretreatment.PMID:34262398 | PMC:PMC8254170 | DOI:10.1002/rmb2.12383 (Source: Reproductive Biology)
