Management of Germ Cell Tumours of the Testes in Adult Patients: German Clinical Practice Guideline, PART II – Recommendations for the Treatment of Advanced, Recurrent, and Refractory Disease and Extragonadal and Sex Cord/Stromal Tumours and for the Management of Follow-Up, Toxicity, Quality of Life, Palliative Care, and Supportive Therapy
Conclusion: Physicians and other medical service providers who are involved in the diagnostics, treatment, and follow-up of GCT (all stages, outpatient and inpatient care as well as rehabilitation) are the users of the present guideline. The guideline also comprises quality indicators for measuring the implementation of the guideline recommendations in routine clinical care; these data will be presented in a future publication.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Does Pandemic Anxiety Affect Urology Health Care Workers?
Conclusion: During the pandemic, urology HCWs perceive lower burden by workload and deem themselves at low risk of infection. However, the greatest anxiety is related to infection by a SARS-CoV-2-positive colleague, despite reciprocal protection by surgical face masks. This highlights a relevant mental stress and uncertainty towards management of infected HCWs, calling for increased education and psychological support.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Management of Germ Cell Tumours of the Testis in Adult Patients. German Clinical Practice Guideline Part I: Epidemiology, Classification, Diagnosis, Prognosis, Fertility Preservation, and Treatment Recommendations for Localized Stages
Conclusion: Although GCT is a rare tumour entity with excellent survival rates for the localized stages, its management requires an interdisciplinary approach, including several clinical experts. Quality of care is highly related to institutional expertise and can be reassured by established online-based second-opinion boards. There are very few studies on diagnostics with good level of evidence. Treatment of metastatic GCTs must be tailored to the risk according to the International Germ Cell Cancer Collaboration Group classification after careful diagnostic evaluation. An interdisciplinary approach as well as the referra...

Lithogenic Potential of < b > < i > Ureaplasma < /i > < /b > in Chronic Prostatitis
Conclusions: UPs identification in the urogenital fluids is related to higher rates of prostate calcifications. The ability of UPs to promote the formation of calcifications could be related to the chronicization of prostate infection. In particular, the presence of UPs in VB3/EPS/sperm is associated with higher rates of calcifications and high WBC sperm counts, suggesting a partial or full causative role of UPs in the pathogenesis of this disease.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Spontaneous Erosion of Retained Bone Chip into Anal Canal Following Progressive Perineal Urethroplasty with Inferior Pubectomy: Lessons Learnt!
We present a never before reported delayed complication of progressive perineal urethroplasty with inferior pubectomy in a young male, where retained bone chip spontaneously erodes through anal canal. Our case cautions urologists doing inferior pubectomy for pelvic fracture urethral distraction defect to make sure that no loose bony fragment is left in the operative field. We also emphasize to make sure to nibble the sharp bony margins of the cut pubic bone after inferior pubectomy so that it will not impinge onto the anterior wall of rectum eliminating the risk of delayed perforation of rectum or anal canal.Urol Int (Sour...

High Expression of microRNA-371a-3p in Cystic Fluid of Post-Chemotherapy Teratoma with Concurrent Normal Serum Levels in Patients with Non-Seminomatous Testicular Germ Cell Tumours
Conclusions: The detection of miR-371 in the cystic fluid of teratoma is somewhat enigmatic since this GCT subtype usually does not express the miR. Two hypotheses may explain the finding: First, miR-371 molecules were released into the cystic fluid by active GCT tissue prior to chemotherapy. High levels were kept after regression of vital GCT tissue because the cystic lumen is without a specific drainage system. Second, teratoma cells lining the interior cyst wall may shed small amounts of miR-371 into the lumen. Because of the lacking drainage system, even small levels may accumulate. The present finding adds to the unde...
