Long Noncoding RNA LIPE-AS1 Drives Prostate Cancer Progression by Functioning as a Competing Endogenous RNA for microRNA-654-3p and Thereby Upregulating Hepatoma-Derived Growth Factor
Conclusion: LIPE-AS1 promotes PCa malignancy by targeting the miR-654-3p/HDGF axis. Determining the LIPE-AS1/miR-654-3p/HDGF pathway may increase our understanding of PCa pathogenesis and contribute toward a wider applied scope.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Recurrent Prostatic Stromal Tumor of Uncertain Malignant Potential Combined with Concurrent Prostatic Adenocarcinoma: An Unusual Case
We present a unique case of recurrent STUMP after transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) with concurrent prostatic adenocarcinoma. Patients diagnosed with prostatic STUMP should be followed up closely, for it may recur and invade adjacent organs after TURP shortly. Concurrent prostatic adenocarcinoma can be found in STUMP patients, and there may be some potential mechanisms which promote the simultaneous occurrence of the 2 tumors.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Relation between Cajal Cell Density and Radiological and Scintigraphic Outcomes in Patients with Ureteropelvic Junction Obstruction
Conclusion: ICC deficiency/density could not be shown as a predictive factor for the determination of success rate of pyeloplasty. Despite the lack of any evidence for the degree of deficiency as an indicator for the severity of obstruction and prediction of surgical success, further studies are needed for confirmation.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

The Outcomes of Minimally Invasive Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy with Different Access Sizes for the Single Renal Stone ≤25 mm: A Randomized Prospective Study
Conclusions: The axis of target calyx is a reliable marker for establishment of percutaneous renal access under ultrasonic guidance. The surgical outcomes of different access sizes were comparable, but the operation time was significantly shortened with the increase of size. However, Fr22 was not more efficient than Fr20.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Nephron-Sparing Surgery for Renal Cell Carcinoma with Tumor Thrombus
Conclusion: Our experience supports the feasibility of imperative partial nephrectomy and tumor thrombectomy for cases of RCC with renal vein involvement by tumor thrombus. In experienced hands, this approach may offer the patient a low morbidity postoperative course and long-term freedom from disease while maintaining the renal function, thus avoiding the need of renal replacement therapy.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Geriatric Patients and Symptomatic Urinary Tract Infections: Analysis of Bacterial Range and Resistance Rates at a 3rd Level of Care Hospital in Germany
Conclusion: UTI in geriatric patients should be treated differently than in younger patients because antibiotic resistance is high. The group with indwelling devices is complex. Individual strategies for geriatric patients should be considered.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Organ-Specific Monitoring of Solitary Kidney after Living Donation by Using Markers of Glomerular Filtration Rate and Urinary Proteins
Conclusions: Our findings suggest that for the evaluation of mild tubular damage, low-molecular-weight marker proteins should be included in the urine diagnostic of a personalized living kidney donor follow-up.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Increased Body Mass Index Is a Risk Factor for Poor Clinical Outcomes after Radical Prostatectomy in Men with International Society of Urological Pathology Grade Group 1 Prostate Cancer Diagnosed with Systematic Biopsies
Conclusion: Our findings show that increased BMI is a significant predictor of UD and PSM at RP in patients with preoperative low-to intermediate-risk diseases, suggesting that BMI evaluation may be useful in a clinical setting to identify patients with favorable preoperative disease characteristics harboring high-risk PCa.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

The Efficacy of Surgical Metastasectomy for Solitary Metastasis of Renal Cell Carcinoma
Conclusions: If resection is feasible, SM may be beneficial for patients with solitary metastasis of RCC, and we showed the possibility that PTT prior to SM may be effective for avoiding recurrence after SM. Further large-scale prospective studies are needed to clarify the ideal treatment strategy for metastatic RCC.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)
