Treatment Outcomes of Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy in Patients with Synchronous and Metachronous Oligometastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma
Conclusion: SBRT is a successful treatment for oligometastatic RCC patients due to its excellent LC and minimal toxicity profile. There were no statistically significant survival differences between patients with synchronous and metachronous oligometastasis. Patients with solitary oligometastasis outlived their counterparts.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Perinephric Toxic Fat: Impact on Surgical Complexity, Perioperative Outcome, and Surgical Approach in Partial Nephrectomy
Conclusion: Older, male patients with high BMI scores have a higher risk for APF. The presence of APF increases surgery time and may have an impact on decision making regarding the preferred surgical approach.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Postoperative Mortality Rate after Radical Cystectomy: A Systematic Review of Epidemiologic Series
Conclusions: The majority of the studies available are from major developed economies with paucity of data in the developing world. 90M after RC tends to be at least twice as high as IHM. The knowledge of such epidemiologic data is vital to guide public policies, such as centralization, in order to reduce mortality.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Botryoid Wilms Tumor with Left-Sided Inferior Vena Cava: A Case Report
Wilms tumor (WT) is the second most common solid tumor in pediatric population. Botryoid WT is an uncommon growth pattern of WT, which is characterized by tumor extension into collecting system. A case of a 27-month-old boy with botryoid WT and left-sided inferior vena cava is reported in this article to emphasize the importance of preoperative imaging in preoperative planning.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Active Surveillance in Prostate Cancer: Current and Potentially Emerging Biomarkers for Patient Selection Criteria
Background: Prostate cancer (PCa) represents one of the most frequent malignancies and the fifth leading cause of cancer death in adult men worldwide. PCa mortality rates have been declining in several Western countries; one of the possible reasons may be related to the application of prostate-specific antigen early detection policies. These early detection protocols increase PCa-specific patient survival; however, a high percentage of these cases corresponds to low-risk PCa that grows very slowly and is unlikely to metastasize to threaten survival. Many low-risk PCa patients receive aggressive therapies, such as radical p...

Clinical Comparison between Three Single-Use Flexible Ureteroscope Models: A Real-World Experience
Conclusion: The three devices evaluated are highly effective in treatment of kidney stones. Reasons for difference in total surgery and fluoroscopy time and access sheath use are not clear. However, this could be explained by technical aspects of these devices, such as external diameter, optical resolution, and field of view.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

The Role of Additional Epididymis Resection during Hydrocelectomy: Is It of Any Benefit in Comparison to Simple Hydrocelectomy?
Conclusion: puH and HRE showed similar results in terms of overall low recurrence rates and also in terms of postoperative complications, even though patients who underwent puH experienced slightly higher severe complications. Both procedures are safe and effective, but it seems that HRE does not provide a relevant clinical benefit in comparison to puH for the management of men with secondary hydroceles.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Impact of Stone Localization before Emergency Ureteral Stenting on Further Stone Treatment
Conclusion: Emergency ureteral stenting for ureterolithiasis may change the location of a stone, potentially affecting therapy planning, particularly in the case of proximal stones. Imaging control prior to definitive stone treatment is thus especially advisable for proximal ureteral stones.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Idiopathic Retroperitoneal Fibrosis: What Is the Optimal Clinical Approach for Long-Term Preservation of Renal Function?
Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the long-term effects of ureteral stenting and the exact timing of stent removal in favor of surgery in patients with idiopathic retroperitoneal fibrosis (IRF).Summary: Medline research terms of “idiopathic retroperitoneal fibrosis” AND “ medical therapy” OR “ureteral stenting” OR “surgical treatment” were done. Systematic reviews and observational and clinical studies were analyzed to obtain indication regarding the objective of the study for a narrative review. Ninety-two papers were analyzed. The treatment of IRF includes the monitoring of retroperiton...

Comparison of Mirabegron plus Tamsulosin and Tamsulosin Monotherapy for the Treatment of Ureteral Stent-Related Symptoms: A Prospective Randomized Study
Conclusion: Compared to tamsulosin alone, tamsulosin + mirabegron showed no additional benefit on the ureteral stent-related pain control after ureteroscopic lithotripsy and silicone stent placement. There was no significant difference on the analgesic usage and USSQ scores between the two groups. Chinese patients request fewer analgesics than international patients.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Prospective Evaluation of Health-Related Quality of Life in Patients with Metastatic Urothelial Carcinoma Undergoing Immunotherapy with Pembrolizumab: Symptom Burden Can Predict Survival
Conclusion: Physical and emotional needs have a strong impact on HRQoL and should be dealt with during treatment. If symptom burden is high, survival decreases. This needs further evaluation.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

A Case Report of Adrenal Teratoma: Huge but Easy to Misdiagnose
In this study, we reported the clinical and pathologic features of 7 patients surgically treated for adrenal mature teratomas from 2007 to 2020 in our hospital. We compared the clinical characteristics and surgical management in literature review cases with our cases. All patients were females and underwent open adrenalectomy or laparoscopic adrenalectomy, respectively. In our cases, there was no recurrence during the longest follow-up of 13 years. Adrenal teratoma is rare and easy to ignore. And once misdiagnosed, the surgeon may need to adjust the operation temporarily, extend the operation time and finally increase the ...
