Reassessment of a Decade of Experience on Testicular Torsion: Are We Making a Mistake?
Conclusion: Surgical exploration is mandated in case of clinical suspicion for testicular torsion even with a normal flow Doppler ultrasound. Macroscopic evaluation does not always correlate with microscopic findings, and a decision according to it may result in excision of potentially viable testis. Further studies are required to determine the actual risk of contralateral autoimmune damage and increase the rate testicular salvageability after testicular torsion.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Optimizing Upper-Tract Imaging for Non-Visible Haematuria
Conclusion: Diagnosis with UTUC is rare in patients presenting with NVH under the age of 60 years. Routine use of CTU in this low-risk group is best avoided, with ultrasonography constituting a safer first-line upper-tract imaging modality. Guidelines that risk-stratify NVH patients may be effective in reducing unnecessary investigations.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Tim3scFv-Transforming < b > < i > Lactobacillus < /i > < /b > Inhibits Transplanted Tumor of Renal-Cell Carcinoma
Conclusion: Secretion of CTB-Tim3scFv promoted the proliferation and activation of spleen lymphocytes and inhibited growth, cell proliferation, and angiogenesis of tumors. The proposed method is low cost and convenient with potential to become a new immunotherapy approach for renal-cell carcinoma.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Linear Low-Intensity Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy as a Method for Penile Rehabilitation in Erectile Dysfunction Patients after Radical Prostatectomy: A Randomized, Single-Blinded, Sham-Controlled Clinical Trial
Conclusions: LI-LiESWT using the LSTC-ED® technique is a suitable and safe method for penile rehabilitation in patients with ED after bilateral NS RP, not only because of the vasculogenic effect of LI-LiESWT but also because of its neuroprotective and/or regenerative effects.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Urine Macrophages Polarization Predicts Renal Function Recovery after Nephron-Sparing Surgery in Patients with Renal Cell Carcinoma
Conclusion: Urine macrophages polarization could predict renal function recovery after NSS in patients with RCC. The urine M1/M2 ratio might a potential biomarker of RIRI but needs to be further verified in clinical settings.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Better Knowledge about Testicular Cancer Might Improve the Rate of Testicular (Self-)Examination: A Survey among 1,025 Medical Students in Germany
Conclusion: Even in a positively selected collective like medical students, the knowledge about TC is low. Better knowledge might improve the chance of detecting the disease early. Therefore, our joint project of urologists, patients, and supporters called Prevention and Advocacy of Testicular Education e.V. (PATE) works on rising public TC awareness in Germany.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

One-Stage Flexible Ureteroscopy during Single-Tract Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy in the Treatment of Parallel Calyceal Stones
Conclusions: For most patients with parallel calyceal stones, one-stage FURS combined with single-tract PCNL procedure was a safer procedure for the reduction of complications and could achieve a comparative SFR compared to the multi-tract PCNL.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Is Anti-Reflux Anastomosis an Advantage in an Orthotopic Ileal Neobladder? A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusion: Although meta-analysis showed that overall incidence of vesicoureteral reflux was higher with direct anastomosis than anti-reflux anastomosis, the rate of vesicoureteral reflux was not directly related to impairment of RFn. The anti-reflux mechanism of ONB was positively associated with a higher incidence of significant UEAS compared to the direct approach, which can lead to kidney damage and an increased risk of secondary surgical procedures.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)
