Renal Lipoma-Like Angiomyolipoma of Tumour Thrombus Extending to the Confluence of Inferior Vena Cava with Right Atrium: A Rare Case Report and Literature Review
We report a female AML patient admitted to our centre on January 21, 2020, with complication of tumour thrombus extending to the confluence of IVC with right atrium and had no sign of difficult breathing. She underwent whole-abdominal enhanced CT for abdominal pain and was diagnosed with a possible renal AML with tumour thrombus. Open radical nephrectomy and thrombectomy of vena cava were performed. Intraoperative transoesophageal echocardiography indicated that the tumour thrombus has reached the confluence of IVC with right atrium. The operation took 255 min with an intraoperative haemorrhage of 800mL. The patient was di...

In vivo Temperature Assessment during Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate
Conclusion: Sufficient irrigation flow rates and irrigation monitoring during HoLEP are obligatory. To prevent a high and uncontrolled temperature rise, the surgeon or operating room staff should pay attention to the irrigation ’s continuity.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

The Effect of Preoperative Tamsulosin on Ureteral Navigation, Operation, and Safety: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusion: Preoperative tamsulosin can not only increase the one-time success rate of ureteral navigation and the stone-free rate of URS but also reduce the incidence of postoperative adverse symptoms such as postoperative fever and postoperative pain.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Predicting Complexity in Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumours: External Validation and Modification of the Bladder Complexity Score
Conclusion: In this first external validation, BCS remained an insufficient predictor of complex TURBT. mBCS requires reduced parameters, is more predictive and easier to apply in clinical practice.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Predictive Role of the Systemic Immune Inflammation Index for Intravesical BCG Response in Intermediate- and High-Risk Non-Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer
Conclusion: For patients with intermediate- and high-risk NMIBC, serum SII levels do not present as an appropriate biomarker for the prediction of disease recurrence and progression following intravesical BCG therapy. A possible explanation for the failure of SII to predict BCG response may be found in the impact of Turkey ’s nationwide tuberculosis vaccination program.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Learning Curve for Endoscopic Combined Intra-Renal Surgery Using Vacuum-Assisted Device
Discussion: A surgeon learning ECIRS with vacuum assistance can obtain proficiency in 17 –50 cases. The number of procedures required for excellence remains unclear. Exclusion of more complex cases might positively affect the training, reducing unnecessary complications.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Changes in Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia Patients Affected by Covid-19
Conclusion: Although almost 3 years have passed since the beginning of this pandemic, there are still many unanswered questions surrounding this disease. We believe that with our experience we will enrich the information about the relationship between Covid-19 and LUTS, and the results obtained by us can serve as a basis for future large-scale and more in-depth studies on the subject.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Is the Supine Position Suitable for Ultrasound-Guided Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy in Patients with Complex Renal Stones?
Conclusion: US-guided PCNL in the modified supine position was a safe treatment for complex renal stones. However, the single-session stone clearance rate was not ideal. The supine flank-free position may be unsuitable for US-guided PCNL in patients with complex renal stones according to our preliminary findings.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Avelumab plus Axitinib for the Treatment of Patients with End-Stage Renal Disease Undergoing Dialysis: A Retrospective Case Series and Literature Review
Combination therapies of an immune checkpoint inhibitor and a molecular targeted agent are widely accepted as an appropriate initial systemic therapy for metastatic renal cell carcinoma (RCC), but there is little published evidence regarding the efficacy of this approach in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Here, we report three patients who were undergoing hemodialysis for ESRD whose metastatic RCC was successfully treated using avelumab plus axitinib. The patients were a 67-year-old man with swollen lymph nodes, a 65-year-old man with pleural dissemination, and a 71-year-old man with lung nodules and an infra...

Diagnostic Performance and Clinical Impact of PSMA PET/CT versus mpMRI in Patients with a High Suspicion of Prostate Cancer and Previously Negative Biopsy: A Prospective Trial (PROSPET-BX)
Background: This prospective single-arm study is designed to compare in parallel68Ga-PSMA PET/TRUS (transrectal or transperineal) fusion biopsy ( “experimental test”) with multiparametric MRI (mpMRI)/TRUS fusion prostate biopsy (“standard test”) in men with a high suspicion of prostate cancer (PCa) after at least one negative biopsy. The primary objective was to evaluate the diagnostic performance of68Ga-PSMA PET/TRUS fusion prostate biopsy in comparison to mpMRI/TRUS fusion prostate biopsy analyzed in parallel. Secondarily, we aimed to determine the relationship between the “experimental test” and the histopat...
