The Clinical Complexity of Penile Cancer: Current Clinical-Epidemiological Data from the Database of the Free State of Saxony/Germany
Conclusions: The multitude of clinical and epidemiological variables available in clinical cancer registries allows a safe assessment of tumour dynamics themselves, as well as good quality of transparency and broadly acceptable guideline adherence. Deviations from the accepted level of evidence were found in the grading definition, in the high quota of positive surgical margins, in the defensive indication position to the glans resurfacing/reconstruction and diagnostical LND. Based on these relevant findings in the database combined with the low frequency of the tumour in area/clinics/year, we recommended establishing SCCP...

Optimal Treatment for Patients with Oligometastatic Prostate Cancer
Oligometastatic prostate cancer (PCa) can be defined as cancer with a limited number of metastases, typically fewer than 5 lesions, and involves lesions contained within the axial versus the appendicular skeleton. Patients can present with de novo oligometastatic, oligorecurrent, or oligoprogressive PCa. Oligometastatic PCa patients demonstrate considerable improvements in survival outcomes, with a better prognosis than patients with extensive metastatic disease. However, the management of patients that present with nonsymptomatic oligometastatic PCa remains difficult. In the oligometastatic setting, the benefit of local t...

Efficacy of Mitomycin C Combined with Direct Vision Internal Urethrotomy for Urethral Strictures: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusion: MMC combined with DVIU is a promising way to reduce the long-term recurrence rate of a short-segment anterior urethral stricture. It also increases the success rate of the first urethrotomy of the posterior urethra. However, more high-quality randomized controlled trials are needed.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Comparing Prognosis Associated with Partial Cystectomy and Trimodal Therapy for Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer Patients
Conclusions: Patients who underwent PC had a better prognosis than those who received TT. In addition, for MIBC patients who required bladder-sparing therapy, advanced age ( ≥80 years), pathological type of squamous cell carcinoma, and tumor stage of T3–4, N2–3, and M1 were independent poor prognostic factors.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Primary Adrenal Glomus Tumor: The First Case Report
We report a unique case of a 25-year-old man who was incidentally identified to have a mass in the left adrenal gland region by computerized tomography scan. The image revealed a 1.8 × 1.6 cm, well-defined adrenal mass with moderately homogeneous enhancement. The mass was laparoscopically completely removed, and the diagnosis of a solid variant glomus tumor of the adrenal gland was rendered. There were no histologic features indicating atypia or malignance and no primary tumors anywhere else. The patient was free of disease at the 6-month follow-up. To our knowledge, this is the first case of primary adrenal glomus tumor ...

Clinical Analysis of Pyocele of Tunica Vaginalis in 56 Newborns
Conclusions: Neonatal pyocele of tunica vaginalis is mostly secondary to intra-abdominal infection. Color Doppler ultrasound is helpful for the diagnosis. The percutaneous aspiration is a way of collecting pathogenic bacteria during the conservative treatment. If the color Doppler suggests testicular involvement, surgical exploration should be performed.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Psychosocial Distress in the Early Recovery Period after Radical Prostatectomy
Conclusions: Distress and incontinence decreased significantly during the 3 weeks of inpatient rehabilitation after RP. Patient age ≤69 years and tumor stage ≥pT3 are independent predictors of high psychosocial distress.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Prediction of Treatment Response and Survival with Chemotherapy for Metastatic Penile Cancer by the Modified Glasgow Prognostic Score
Conclusions: Systemic inflammatory response and nutritional status as expressed by the mGPS are independent predictors of treatment response, chemotherapy-associated toxicity, and survival in metastatic penile carcinoma. In addition to other known pathological markers of tumor aggressiveness, the mGPS can be used as a clinical predictor of prognosis.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

The Impact of Preoperative Double-J Stent on Perioperative Complications, Recurrence, and Quality of Life in Adult Patients Undergoing Pyeloplasty
Conclusion: In a contemporary pyeloplasty cohort, the midterm success rate was good with 91%. Our findings suggest that preoperative DJ is associated with higher recurrence rates. However, QoL did not differ between patients with and without preoperative DJ.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

A Prospective Study Comparing Cancer Detection Rates of Transperineal Prostate Biopsies Performed by Junior Urologists versus a Senior Consultant in a Real-World Setting
Conclusions: The residents could get similar PCa detection and complication rates compared with that of the consultant after a 2-week training. However, the residents still need more cases to shorten the time of the biopsy procedure.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)

Vesico-Vaginal Fistula Repair by a Vaginal Approach
Conclusion: Transvaginal closure of VVaFs with a Latzko technique is successful in about 79% in either 1 or 2 attempts, with few minor complications. A second attempt in closing the fistula with a transvaginal approach is useful, and a previous transvaginal attempt is not a contraindication for a second transvaginal attempt in closing the VVaF surgically.Urol Int (Source: Urologia Internationalis)
