Depression as a Risk Factor of Organic Diseases: An International Integrative Review
ConclusionsMechanisms connecting depression to physical illness appear to involve alterations in the hypothalamic‐pituitary axis, unhealthy lifestyle, chronic or acute stressors including posttraumatic stress, an increase in C‐reactive protein (CRP) in men, taking antidepressant medication, and social and emotional loneliness. Clinical RelevanceA good patient–provider relationship can help to promote decreased acute or chronic stressors, increased family and social support, decreased loneliness, modification of unhealthy lifestyles such as smoking, obesity, physical inactivity, alcohol, control of CRP, and antidepressant medication. Nurses are well placed to help prevent physical diseases through detection and referral of patients who are depressed or undiagnosed and not receiving adequate mental health treatment.

Os testes Alcohol Use Disorders Identificati on Test (AUDIT) e Fagerstrom Test for Nicotine Dependence (FTND) avaliaram o uso de álcool e cigarro respectivamente. O Self-Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ-20) foi utilizado para rastreio de saúde mental. Os testes Iowa Gambling Task (IGT), W...
Conclusion Cognitive rehabilitation is able to prolong the independence of the patient in performing activities of daily living and generate functional and structural changes. As a consequence of the finding of few studies that met the eligibility criteria, we also verified the need for more controlled studies and greater application control, considering the high risk of bias in the studies used.
Conclusions Nuclear transcription receptors, cerebral cortex and hippocampus, microglia, and amyloid beta protein have shown significant importance in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer ’ s disease in this study.

This study assessed the effects of the incorporation of Lactobacillus acidophilus LA-05 or Bifidobacterium animalis ssp. lactis BB-12 in the content and bioaccessibility of phenolics in red pitaya pulp. The oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) of the dialyzed (bioaccessible) fraction of red pitaya pulp fermented by these probiotics was also assessed. After 48 h of cultivation in red pitaya pulp, the pH and sugar contents decreased, while organic acids and viable counts of the tested probiotics increased (p
Publication date: 5 March 2020Source: Food Chemistry, Volume 308Author(s): Yunping Zhu, Xiaoya Shang, Li Yang, Shenglan Zheng, Kaifeng Liu, Xiuting LiAbstractA novel blue pigment was first isolated from Streptomyces sp. A1013Y. The purified component was identified as 4,8,13-trihydroxy-6,11-dione-trihydrogranaticins A (TDTA). Its physical properties were found to be: Molecular weight 462 Da; Color value, E0.1%1cm580 nm = 80; Solubility, it dissolved in organic solvents. In addition, the color of TDTA changed with pH but was found to be relatively stable between 20 and 100 °C, from pH 3 to pH 11, and under UV-li...
