CONCLUSIONS: Use of NEPAd led to a 28% reduction in costs with respect to the use of FOD. A high level of concordance was obtained in both periods between the latest published guideline and healthcare practice in our field. Surveys carried out on patients seem to suggest that both antiemetic therapies have similar effectiveness in clinical practice. E. coli infection disrupts the epithelial barrier and activates intrinsic neurosecretory reflexes in the pig colon
This study aims to assess the barrier integrity and possible activation of enteric neural pathways associated with secretion and motility in the pig colon induced by an enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) challenge. 50 Danbred male piglets were used for this study. 16 were challenged with an oral dose of the ETEC strain F4+ 1.5 × 109 colony-forming unit. Systematic review: efficacy of therapies for cholestatic pruritus
CONCLUSION: Our findings consolidate data on the efficacy of guideline-based approaches and newer therapies for CP. While the initial findings are promising, additional clinical trials will be needed to determine the full extent of IBATi's efficacy and potential use in treating other common CLDs. Effects of ondansetron treatment on outcomes of critically ill patients with myocardial infarction partly through its anti-inflammatory activity
Conclusion: Early use of OND in critically ill patients with MI may exert protective effects by reducing in-hospital mortality and 28- and 90-day mortality.
