A sustainable nano-hybrid system of laccase@M-MWCNTs for multifunctional PAHs and PhACs removal from water, wastewater, and lake water
This study examined the use of modified multiwall carbon nanotubes (M-MWCNTs) with immobilized laccase (L@M-MWCNTs) for removing ciprofloxacin (Cip), carbamazepine (Cbz), diclofenac (Dcf), benzo[a]pyrene (Bap), and anthracene (Ant) from different water samples. The synthesized materials were characterized using an array of advanced analytical techniques. The physical immobilization of laccase onto M-MWCNTs was confirmed through Scanning electron microscope (SEM)-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) analysis and Brunner-Emmet-Teller (BET) surface area measurements. The specific surface area of M-MWCNTs decreased by 65% upon ...

Betulin Accelerated the Functional Recovery of Injured Muscle in a Mouse Model of Muscle Contusion
This study aimed to explore the therapeutic effects of betulin on muscle contusion that produced by the drop-mass method in mice. C57BL/6 mice were randomly assigned to control (no injury), only drop-mass injury (Injury), diclofenac treatment (Injury+diclofenac), and betulin treatment (Injury+betulin) groups. Injury was executed on the gastrocnemius of the right hind limb, and then phosphate-buffered saline (PBS), diclofenac, or betulin were oral gavage administrated respectively for 7 days. Results revealed that betulin significantly restored motor functions based on locomotor activity assessments, rota-rod test, and foot...

GSE235393 Transcriptomic analysis of adult ovaries and testes exposed to the cocktails of pharmaceuticals ibuprofen (IBU), 2hydroxyIBU (2hIBU), diclofenac (DCF) and 17a ethinyl-estradiol (EE2) in mice
In this study, we investigated the impact of chronic exposure to a mixture containing ibuprofen, 2hydroxy-ibuprofen, diclofenac, and EE2 at two environmentally relevant doses (added to the drinking water from fetal life, 8.5 dpc, until sexual maturity) on the reproductive tract in F1 exposed mice and their F2 offspring. In adult F1 and F2 animals, chronic exposure to low environmental doses of IBU, 2hydroxy-IBU, DCF, and EE2 mixtures, affected reproductive organ maturation, estrous cyclicity (in females), spermiogenesis (in males), and some sperm parameters in F2 males. Transcriptomics further revealed significant changes ...

Characteristics of adverse drug reactions due to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs: a cross-sectional study
Nagoya J Med Sci. 2023 Nov;85(4):668-681. doi: 10.18999/nagjms.85.4.668.ABSTRACTNonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are widely used for treating pain and inflammation. Spontaneous adverse drug reaction (ADR) reports represent a rich data source for the detection of unknown and rare ADRs. This cross-sectional study aimed to analyze the characteristics of ADRs due to NSAIDs in Thailand. All ADR reports of NSAIDs for systemic use from 2015 to 2019 were extracted from the national database in Thailand. Patient characteristics, drug use information, adverse event information, and source of senders in 32,857 reports we...
