Clopidogrel Plus Aspirin in Patients With Different Types of Single Small Subcortical Infarction
Conclusions: There was no significant difference in the efficacy of clopidogrel plus aspirin compared with aspirin alone between patients with SSSI + PAD and SSSI – PAD in the CHANCE trial. Studies in other populations and with adequate power are needed to further verify such findings.

No study has evaluated the incidence of early bleeding in patients with moderate to major ischemic stroke. Risk of Stroke vs. Intracerebral Hemorrhage in Patients with Non-Valvular Atrial Fibrillation Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials Comparing Dual vs. Triple Antithrombotic Therapy
About 15% of patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation might require percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs) with stent placement to treat obstructive coronary artery disease. Dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) with acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) and P2Y12 antagonist is recommended after PCI. Patients requiring DAPT also require treatment with oral anticoagulation for atrial fibrillation. We conducted a meta-analysis to identify the antithrombotic regimen associated with the lowest rate of bleeding and thromboembolic events in non-valvular atrial fibrillation after PCI.

Efficacy and Safety of Antiplatelet Agents for Adult Patients With Ischemic Moyamoya Disease
Conclusions: Antiplatelet agents were effective and safe in preventing further cerebral ischemic attacks in adult patients with ischemic MMD. They may be a replacement therapy for patients with surgical contraindications and for patients prior to revascularization.

Elastase inhibitor agaphelin protects from acute ischemic stroke in mice by reducing thrombosis, blood-brain barrier damage, and inflammation.
This study shows for the first time a protective effect of agaphelin characterized by smaller infarct volume, reduced neurological deficits and reduced animal mortality. This protective effect was associated with reduced local thrombus formation, increased blood-brain barrier integrity and reduced brain inflammatory response.
