Association of sex and age with in ‐hospital mortality and complications of patients with intracerebral hemorrhage: A study from the Chinese Stroke Center Alliance
ConclusionAmong young and middle-aged patients, females are related to a lower in-hospital mortality rate from ICH. Older patients are at an increased risk of ICH complications, with higher in-hospital mortality in older men.

Aminotransferase Level and the Effects of Dual Antiplatelet in Minor Stroke or Transient Ischemic Attack: A post hoc Analysis of a Randomized Control Trial
Conclusions: Dual antiplatelet treatment was safe for minor stroke or high-risk TIA patients with mildly elevated aminotransferase. Mild elevation of ALT or AST did not undermine the protective efficacy of the dual antiplatelet regimen in reducing recurrent stroke or TIA within 90 days after MIS or TIA. The interaction between the CYP2C19 loss-of-function allele carrier status and aminotransferase level on the efficacy of dual antiplatelet treatment was not observed.Cerebrovasc Dis

Safety of recanalization therapy in acute ischemic stroke patients on direct oral anticoagulant therapy: An updated systematic review and meta-analysis
Yanxing Zhang, Huan Tang, Xiaohong Gui, Ye Du, Chenglong WuAnnals of Indian Academy of Neurology 2022 25(6):1036-1046 This review provides an updated assessment of the safety of recanalization therapy for Acute Ischemic Stroke (AIS) patients receiving direct oral anticoagulants (DOAC) therapy. We checked the literature for published observational from 1st January 1950 to 31st March 2021. The rate of symptomatic intracerebral hemorrhage (sICH), arterial recanalization rate, good functional recovery, and mortality at 3 months were investigated, and data were expressed as Risk ratio (RR) with a 95% confidence inte...

Relevance of admission hyperglycaemia and diabetes mellitus to efficacy and safety of mechanical thrombectomy in stroke patients
CONCLUSIONS: Diabetes mellitus has a neutral effect on the angiographic and clinical outcomes of mechanical thrombectomy in stroke patients. It does not increase the risk of intracranial haemorrhage after instrumental therapy. It is admission hyperglycaemia, rather than diabetes mellitus, that is a predictor of poor functional status in patients treated with thrombectomy. According to our results, the patient's neurological status, age, and the outcome of thrombectomy are relevant to the functional status in the acute ischaemic stroke period.PMID:36394219 | DOI:10.5603/PJNNS.a2022.0063

The application of pre-hospital first aid mode in patients with acute stroke: meta-analysis
Folia Neuropathol. 2022;60(3):284-291. doi: 10.5114/fn.2022.117614.ABSTRACTTo systematically evaluate the application effect of pre-hospital and in-hospital emergency mode in patients with acute stroke. The study was conducted by systematic search of Chinese (CNKI, Wanfang and VIP) and English (PubMed, EMBASE and Cochrane Library) databases. The case-control studies comparing the role of pre-hospital and in-hospital emergency mode for patients with acute stroke were included in this study. Outcome indicators included the time from admission to thrombolytic therapy (DNT), the time from calling for help to receiving professi...
