IGF-1R stimulation alters microglial polarization via TLR4/NF- κB pathway after cerebral hemorrhage in mice.
In this study, we examined the impact of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) secreted by NSCs on microglial polarization following ICH in adult C57BL/6 mice. Anticoagulation use and Hemorrhagic Stroke in SARS-CoV-2 Patients Treated at a New York Healthcare System
ConclusionWe observed an overall low rate of imaging-confirmed hemorrhagic stroke among patients hospitalized with COVID-19. Most hemorrhages in patients with COVID-19 infection occurred in the setting of therapeutic anticoagulation and were associated with increased mortality. Further studies are needed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of therapeutic anticoagulation in patients with COVID-19.

Magnetic resonance vessel wall imaging predicts morphological deterioration in unruptured intracranial artery dissection
Spontaneous unruptured intracranial artery dissection (IAD) is an important cause of stroke among young and middle-aged populations.1 The majority of IADs present with thunderclap headache and follow a benign clinical course. However, it has been reported that the progression of IAD in association with ischemic stroke or bleeding, presumably due to insufficient healing of the affected vessel wall.2 Some reports suggested that IAD progression was associated with IAD luminal morphology.1, 2 To explore the cause of IAD progression, it would be better to evaluate the dissecting wall status beyond the lumen.

Modification of In-Hospital Recommendation and Prescription of Anticoagulants for Secondary Prevention of Stroke after Launch of Direct Oral Anticoagulants and Change of National Guidelines
Conclusions: Changing national guidelines with discard of contraindications for anticoagulation and the introduction of DOACs led to a broader recommendation of oral anticoagulation. However, both, new guidelines and DOACs, were not found to be associated with an increasing percentage of patients discharged from our hospital already on recommended anticoagulant prevention. This might be explained by the decreasing length of hospital stay during the study period and a missing evidence of early bleeding risk of DOACs in patients with acute brain infarction.
