The importance of neuromuscular rate of force development for physical function in aging and common neurodegenerative disorders - a systematic review
J Musculoskelet Neuronal Interact. 2022 Dec 1;22(4):562-586.ABSTRACTWe systematically reviewed existing literature regarding lower extremity neuromuscular rate of force development (RFD), maximal muscle strength (Fmax), and physical function in neurodegenerative populations, and to what extent these outcomes are affected and/or associated. Following PRISMA guidelines, 4 databases (Pubmed, Embase, SPORTDiscus, Web of Science) were searched. Across aging, Parkinson Disease (PD), Alzheimer's Disease (AD), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), or Stroke, included studies should report (Part 1) deficits in lower extremity RFD, Fmax, and phy...

MiR-342-5p protects neurons from cerebral ischemia induced-apoptosis through regulation of Akt/NF- κB pathways by targeting CCAR2
Ischemic stroke causes high morbidity, mortality and health burden in the world. MiR-342-5p was associated with Alzheimer's disease and cardio-protection. Herein, we aimed to reveal effects of miR-342-5p on cerebral ischemia injury as well as novel targets for stroke.

The Immunomodulatory Potential Role of Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Diseases of the Central Nervous System
CONCLUSION: It was shown that MSCs, independent from origin or administration pathway, can reduce inflammation and help in the recovery and preservation of injured neural tissue. Thus, the use of MSCs represents a potential therapeutic option in the treatment of neurological disorders mediated by inflammatory processes.PMID:36398461 | DOI:10.1159/000528036

Neuroprotective Potency of Safranal Against Neurological Disorders
Curr Mol Med. 2022 Nov 17. doi: 10.2174/1566524023666221117104612. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTA great number of research has been focused on plants as a source of medicine against many diseases to overcome the many side effects of chemical drugs. Safranal, one of the main constituents of saffron [Crocus sativus], has a broad spectrum of pharmacological effects, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antiapoptotic effects. The present review elaborates on the current understanding of the neuroprotective effects of safranal. According to data published so far, safranal has the potential to exert neuroprotective eff...
