Etiology and Outcomes of Thrombotic Microangiopathies.
CONCLUSIONS: Secondary thrombotic microangiopathies represent the majority of thrombotic microangiopathies. Multiple thrombotic microangiopathies causes are present in one half of secondary thrombotic microangiopathies. The risks of dialysis, neurologic and cardiac complications, and death vary by the cause of thrombotic microangiopathies. Effects of Normothermic Machine Perfusion Conditions on Mesenchymal Stromal Cells
In this study the effect of NMP perfusion fluid on survival, metabolism and function of thawed cryopreserved human (h)MSC and porcine (p)MSC in suspension conditions was studied. Suspension conditions reduced the viability of pMSC by 40% in both perfusion fluid and culture medium. Viability of hMSC was reduced by suspension conditions by 15% in perfusion fluid, whilst no differences were found in survival in culture medium. Hypertension, Arterial Compliance and LVAD Pump Function
Hypertension (HTN) has been implicated as a risk factor for stroke in continuous-flow Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) populations. Active treatment of HTN has been shown to decrease cerebrovascular accident rates in the recent trial. Current guidelines recommend a mean arterial pressure (MAP) of 80mmHg in LVAD patients; however, it is difficult to reliably measure Blood Pressure (BP) in this cohort. Increased BP will further affect pump output since LVAD flows are altered by both preload and afterload.

Risk assessment in PAH using quantitative CMR tricuspid regurgitation: relation to heart catheterization
ConclusionsA clear trend towards worse outcome with larger TRV or TR% was shown; however, the number of events was insufficient for significant outcome differences. Prognostic value of quantitative TR should be investigated in a larger multicentre cohort. Effective RV ejection fraction may be considered an improved measure of RV function in PAH.

Elevated plasma endocan and BOC in heart failure patients decrease after heart transplantation in association with improved hemodynamics
ConclusionOur results suggest that (i) plasma endocan in HF may reflect the state of pulmonary vascular congestion and PH-LHD, whereas (ii) plasma BOC may reflect the cardiac function and the hemodynamic overload  in HF. The exact role of these proteins and their clinical applicability as biomarkers in HF and PH-LHD ought to be investigated in larger cohorts.

Creatinine increase following initiation of antihypertensives is associated with cardiovascular risk: a nationwide cohort study
Conclusion: In primary care, patients initiating first-line antihypertensive treatment, an increase in plasma creatinine above 30% was associated with increased absolute 6-month risk of cardiovascular event.
