Effective Mechanical Thrombectomy in a Patient with Hyperacute Ischemic Stroke Associated with Cardiac Myxoma
We describe a patient with hyperacute stroke caused by cardiac myxoma who had a good outcome with rapid recanalization through mechanical thrombectomy. A 46-year-old man was admitted with acute symptoms of right side hemiplegia and global aphasia. Brain computed tomography (CT) angiography showed a T occlusion of the left internal carotid artery. A stroke mimic; focal neurological deficits in benign hereditary chorea?
Conclusion This case highlights the difficulties in assessing patients with new focal neurological symptoms in the presence of known, pre existing, neurological disease. It also serves to highlight how often erroneously progressive weakness is mislabelled as a ‘stroke’. Neurologists working together with acute physicians in liaison posts in MAU, provides a unique opportunity to improve overall recognition of neurological disease, and for patients potentially provides a more timely diagnostic work–up and the opportunity for early treatment.

Conclusion In summary, SSS extraction significantly ameliorates cerebral energy metabolism via boosting citrate cycle, which mainly embodies the enhancements of blood glucose concentration, glucose and lactate transportation and glucose utilization, as well as the regulations of relative enzymes activities in citrate cycle. Predictors of early infection in cerebral ischemic stroke.
CONCLUSION: Patients with older age, tube feeding, lower conscious level, worse baseline stroke severity, large cerebral infarcts in CT scan, and increased IL-10 serum level were more susceptible to infection. Malignant Paraganglioma Presenting With Hemorrhagic Stroke in a Child
We report here the case of a 12-year-old boy with malignant sympathetic paraganglioma presenting with hemorrhagic stroke. Severe hypertension was found and the patient evolved into a coma. Acute ischaemic stroke and myocardial infarction after chemotherapy with vinorelbine for non-small cell lung cancer: a case report.
We report about a 70-year-old male with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer who received vinorelbine as an outpatient. The patient presents with a cardiovascular risk profile. Incidental primary mediastinal choriocarcinoma diagnosed by endobronchial ultrasound ‐guided fine needle aspiration in a patient presenting with transient ischemic attack and stroke
We describe a case of a 41‐year old male patient with no significant prior medical history who presents with symptoms of Transient Ischemic Attack and stroke. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of the brain identified areas of ischemia in the left side, and angiography showed occlusion of the left Medial Cerebral Artery (MCA). “Accent issue”: foreign accent syndrome following ischemic stroke
In conclusion, FAS is a rare motor speech disorder, often related to cerebrovascular accidents involving critical regions in the dominant hemisphere. In addition, the present case adds further evidence to the role of the left primary motor cortex in modulation of prosody. In rare cases FAS can be the only sign of stroke or can appear after recovery from post-stroke aphasia.

Aortogenic embolic stroke after sleeve pneumonectomy with median sternotomy for lung cancer: a case report
ConclusionThe median sternotomy approach in sleeve pneumonectomy enables diseased lung ventilation. However, the possibility of aortogenic embolic stroke should be considered when calcification of the ascending aorta is observed on preoperative computed tomography.

Conclusion: Intracranial artery calcification is common in patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease and the intracranial carotid artery is most frequently affected. Intracranial arterial calcifications might be associated with imaging markers of SVD and are highly correlated with WMHs, lacunes, and CMBs. Recurrent Strokes as the First Presentation of Occult Pancreatic Cancer; Trousseau Syndrome: A Case Report
We present a case of a 64-year-old female with recurrent ischemic stroke of unknown cause and involving different arterial territories, who was discovered to have metastatic pancreatic cancer.
