Polo-like kinase 4 is associated with advanced TNM stages and reduced survival and its inhibition improves chemosensitivity in colorectal cancer
In conclusion, the high expression of tumor PLK4 was associated with advanced TNM stage and shorter OS in patients with CRC. In addition, targeting PLK4 improved chemosensitivity in CRC cells.PMID:35782899 | PMC:PMC9247664 | DOI:10.3892/ol.2022.13389

Conclusion: These assays are suitable for routine diagnostic. The UltraFast NextGenPCR is the fastest with average time (30mins), followed by Agilent (2 hrs) and MassArray (6hrs). Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to examine, measure and compare results from different assays for SARS detection, evaluate and diagnose accurately, as well as being able to plan, organize and recommend a diagnostic procedure for diagnostic laboratory. Key words: SARS-CoV-2, RNA extraction, RT-PCR, limit of detection, quantification cycle, COVID-19, in vitro diagnostic tests, Agilent, Massarray, Ultrafast. [20] From t...

GSE164834 Mitochondrial protease Lonp1 localizes to the nucleus in response to heat shock
Contributors : Marcello Pinti ; Lara Gibellini ; Rebecca Borella ; Mattia Forcato ; Giada ZaniniSeries Type : Expression profiling by high throughput sequencingOrganism : Homo sapiensWe analyzed the effects of Lonp1 silencing on the response to heat shock by analyzing the transriptomic profile of SW620 colon cancer cells undergoing heat shock. Briefly, Lonp1 has been silenced by using a specific siRNA, then cells have been kept at 42 °C for 1 hour, and left at 37°C for one hour.

Withanolide modulates the potential crosstalk between apoptosis and autophagy in different colorectal cancer cell lines
Eur J Pharmacol. 2022 Jun 21:175113. doi: 10.1016/j.ejphar.2022.175113. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTWithaferin A (WFA), a withanolide, is isolated from plants of Withania somnifera (L.) Dual (Solanaceae), known as Indian ginseng, Indian winter cherry or Ashwagandha. It has been reported to exert multifaceted anti-neoplastic effects. Here, we analyzed the impact of WFA on apoptosis and autophagy activation in different human colorectal cancer cell lines. We observed that WFA exposure caused an increased aggregation of cells in the subG1 arrest in cell cycle, and increased the number of late apoptotic cells. WFA also induc...
