Toll-interacting protein may affect doxorubicin resistance in hepatocellular carcinoma cell lines
CONCLUSIONS: Our results showed for the first time that silencing TOLLIP in hepatocellular carcinoma cells may help sensitize these cells to doxorubicin and increase the efficacy of chemotherapeutic regimens where doxorubicin is used.PMID:37644370 | DOI:10.1007/s11033-023-08737-2

GSE233807 RNA N6-methyladenosine methyltransferase METTL3 drives NAFLD-HCC and is a therapeutic target for boosting immunotherapy m6A-seq
Series Type : Methylation profiling by high throughput sequencingOrganism : Homo sapiensNon-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is an emerging risk factor of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, the mechanism and target therapy on NAFLD-HCC are still unclear. Here, we identify that the N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methyltransferase METTL3 promotes NAFLD-HCC. Hepatocyte-specific Mettl3 knockin exacerbated NAFLD-HCC formation while Mettl3 knockout exerted an opposite effect in mice. Single-cell RNA-seq revealed that METTL3 suppressed antitumor immune response by reducing infiltration of Gzmb+ and IFN- γ+ CD8+ T-cell, ther...

Downregulation of < em > CLDN6 < /em > inhibits cell migration and invasion and promotes apoptosis by regulation of the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway in hepatocellular carcinoma
CONCLUSIONS: CLDN6 knockdown results in the inhibition of HCC cells' infiltration and migration and promotes apoptosis via downregulation of the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway.PMID:37588735 | PMC:PMC10425638 | DOI:10.21037/tcr-23-19

UBE2S promotes malignant properties via VHL/HIF ‐1α and VHL/JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathways and decreases sensitivity to sorafenib in hepatocellular carcinoma
ConclusionUBE2S enhances malignant properties via the VHL/HIF-1 α and VHL/JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathways and reduces sensitivity to sorafenib in HCC. The findings of this study may open a new approach for HCC diagnosis and provide a potential option for the treatment of HCC.

A pancancer analysis of the oncogenic role of ZNRF2 in human tumours
J Cell Mol Med. 2023 Aug 8. doi: 10.1111/jcmm.17900. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTFinding effective treatments for cancer requires a thorough understanding of how it develops and progresses. Recent research has revealed the crucial role that Zinc and ring finger 2 (ZNRF2) play in the progression of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) by controlling cell growth and death. However, a comprehensive analysis of ZNRF2's role in cancer as a whole has yet to be conducted. Our study sought to investigate the impact of ZNRF2 on diverse human tumours, as well as the molecular pathways involved, using databases such as TCGA (The Canc...

siRNA targeting < em > Atp5a1 < /em > gene encoding ATPase α, the ligand of Peg fimbriae, reduced < em > Salmonella < /em > Enteritidis adhesion
In this study, we identified the ATP synthase subunit alpha (ATPase α) as a ligand of Peg fimbriae using ligand blotting and mass spectrometry techniques. We confirmed the in vitro binding of ATPase α to the purified adhesive protein (PegD). Furthermore, we used siRNA to suppress the expression of ATPase α gene Atp5a1 inLeghorn male hepatoma (LMH) cells, which resulted in a significant reduction in the adhesion rate of S. Enteritidis to the cells (P < 0.05). The findings in this study provide insight into the mechanism of S. Enteritidis infection through Peg fimbriae and highlight the importance of ATPase α in the a...
