Insulin resistance among obese middle-aged is associated with decreased cerebrovascular reactivity
Conclusions: IR is associated with impaired CVR; the relationship appears to be driven by the degree of IR and not by obesity. These rarely reported results suggest that early forms of cerebrovascular dysfunction exist among obese middle-aged individuals with significant IR but without type 2 diabetes mellitus. These functional vascular abnormalities may help explain the associations among IR, diabetes, and dementia, and suggest that interventions aiming to improve IR or CVR may help prevent cognitive decline later in life.

Aim: Hypercholesterolemia is one of the main risk factors of atherosclerosis development. Lipid disorders occur as a result of some genetic abnormalities or secondary to underlying disease, for example, diabetes mellitus. Insulin resistance in such patient is often the reason of hypertriglyceridemia and low serum high-density lipoprotein cholesterol concentrations. Hypertriglyceridemia is the most common lipid abnormality in young patients with myocardial infarction.

Association of vascular indices with novel circulating biomarkers as prognostic factors for cardiovascular complications in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
CONCLUSION: In T2DM patients without established cardiovascular disease, novel indices of vascular inflammation (NGAL and YKL-40) were associated with subclinical atherosclerosis (arterial stiffness) but also with adverse clinical prognosis. The cardiovascular effect of incretin-based therapies among type 2 diabetes: a systematic review and network meta-analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: Incretin-based therapies show similar cardiovascular risk in comparison with metformin, insulin, thiazolidinediones, alpha-glucosidase inhibitor and sodium-glucose co-transporter 2. O5.7. risk of diabetic complications and subsequent mortality among individuals with schizophrenia and diabetes mellitus: a nationwide population-based register study
DiscussionUnexpectedly, we found individuals with comorbid schizophrenia and diabetes mellitus to have a similar or lower rate of diabetic complications diagnosed in hospitals compared to individuals with diabetes mellitus only. However, we still found an excess mortality following a diagnosis of a diabetic complication among individuals with schizophrenia. These results may indicate that individuals are not even seen in hospitals with their diabetic complications and hence indicate an increased need for improved somatic care of individuals with schizophrenia if the burden of diabetes mellitus morbidity and mortality should be reduced.

Lifestyle interventions for improving health and health behaviours in women with type 2 diabetes: A systematic review of the literature 2011 –2017
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) results from the body ’s ineffective use of insulin [1] and while it is often associated with ‘Western lifestyle’ [2], the prevalence of T2DM is rising fastest in low- and middle-income countries [3]. Global estimates suggest that more than 422 million people are living with diabetes [3], with T2DM accounting for 9 0% of cases [4]. Diabetes also increases the risk of other comorbid conditions. For example, a recent systematic review of more than 100 prospective studies showed that people with diabetes had a 2–3 fold increased risk of vascular diseases like coronary heart disease and ischemic stroke [5].
