Hi Everyone! I'll be starting med school this fall at Columbia. I've always been interested in surgery and particularly ortho for as long as I can remember. I have a few questions I was hoping you guys could help me answer. I apologize in advance for any questions that may sound dumb.

Away Rotation - Chances vs Big Name Letters
Hi Everyone,
I wanted to see if it makes more sense to pick away rotations based on potential match or for big name letters.
For context, I go to a "lower tier" state school and discovered ortho late (during surgery rotation which ended a couple weeks ago). 250+ step 1. All honors in 3rd year so far. All honors 1st/2nd. Junior AOA. First author published w/ presentations in gen surg, but no ortho research (workin on it!).
I've talked to my home program residents and done a lot of reading...

Class Rank with Given Pass/Fail Step
Hello everyone - I go to a low tier medical school and now that I learned that step might be reported pass fail for class of 2023 I want to determine how to proceed. I am interested in general surgery, ENT, and perhaps orthopedics. I am a non-traditional student, and I believe I am ranked top 25% or so in the class.
