Insights into biomimetic system –ligand interaction of substituted isophthalic acid: A functionality induced photophysical study
Biorthogonal amine and azide substitutions in the non-fluorescent isophthalic acid renders significant modulation of its photometric behavior. This leads to a strong binding interaction with biomimicking environments in-vitro, the amine derivative being more rigidly bound than its azide counterpart. AbstractThe present article attempts to interpret the modulation of photophysical properties of isophthalic acid (IPA) through its amino [5-amino isophthalic acid (5-amino IPA)] and azido [5-azido isophthalic acid (5-azido IPA)] substituted derivatives which are chemically potent organic ligands. The ground state structure –r...

Tunable 2D Conjugated Porous Organic Polymer Films for Precise Molecular Nanofiltration and Optoelectronics
Pore and linkage chemistry engineering in locally ordered 2D porous conjugated polymer films exhibit precise and tunable molecular sieving ability dictated by structural predesign for membrane-based organic solvent nanofiltration. Their microstructural anisotropy, in-plane conjugation in a 2D layered structure, porosity, and adaptable form factors yield many interesting optical, electrical, and nanoscale properties that can find use in diverse functional applications. AbstractStructural design of 2D conjugated porous organic polymer films (2D CPOPs), by tuning linkage chemistries and pore sizes, provides great adaptability...

Effects of supplementation of different selenium sources on lipid profile, selenium, and vitamin E concentration of yolk
AbstractEgg preference as a source of protein also provides beneficial fatty acids, vital for human consumption. However, rich in lipid products are prone to oxidative damage. The study aims to determine the effect of supplementing biogenic selenium (Se) fromStenotrophomonas maltophilia, ADS18 (ADS18) in laying hens ’ diet on yolk lipid oxidation status (MDA), beta-carotene (β-carotene) content, cholesterol, fatty acids, Se, and vitamin E (VE) level. A total of one hundred and twenty (120) laying hens of Lohmann Brown strains aged 50 weeks, weighing 1500 to 2000 g were reared individually in A-shape two-tie r stainless...

Molecules, Vol. 29, Pages 2093: Ultrasonic-Assisted Extraction of Xanthorrhizol from Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb. Rhizomes by Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents: Optimization, Antioxidant Activity, and Toxicity Profiles
This study indicates the protective effect of GluLA and GluLA extracts against oxidation-induced DNA damage, which was comparable with those obtained for ethanol extract. In addition, the stability of the xanthorrhizol extract over 90 days was revealed when stored at −20 and 4 °C. The FTIR and NMR spectra confirmed the hydrogen bond formation in GluLA. Our study reported, for the first time, the feasibility of using glucose/lactic acid (1:3, 30% water v/v) for the sustainable extraction of xanthorrhizol. (Source: Molecules)
