Viruses, Vol. 16, Pages 672: Longitudinal Dynamics of Immune Response in Occupational Populations Post COVID-19 Infection in the Changning District of Shanghai, China
Yihan Lu Jianlin Zhuang Monitoring the long-term changes in antibody and cellular immunity following Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection is crucial for understanding immune mechanisms that prevent reinfection. In March 2023, we recruited 167 participants from the Changning District, Shanghai, China. A subset of 66 participants that were infected between November 2022 and January 2023 was selected for longitudinal follow-up. The study aimed to investigate the dynamics of the immune response, including neutralizing antibodies (NAbs), anti-spike (S)-immunoglobulin G (IgG), anti-S-IgM, ...

Preference for Competitive Employment in People with Mental Disorders: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Proportions
ConclusionMost people with MD want to work competitively. More efforts should be given to preventive approaches such as support for job retention. Interventions should be initiated at the beginning of the psychiatric treatment when the motivation to work is still high, and barriers are lower.Trail RegistrationThe protocol is published in the Open Science registry athttps://osf.io/7dj9r (Source: Journal of Occupational Rehabilitation)

Occupational patterns of opioid-related harms comparing a cohort of formerly injured workers to the general population in Ontario, Canada
CONCLUSION: Findings support the hypothesis that work-related injuries have a role as a preventable risk factor for opioid-related harms. Strategies aimed at primary prevention of occupational injuries and secondary prevention of work disability and long-term opioid use are warranted.PMID:38658439 | DOI:10.17269/s41997-024-00882-w (Source: Canadian Journal of Public Health)

The influence of digital technologies on resilient performance: Contributions, drawbacks, and a research agenda
Appl Ergon. 2024 Apr 23;118:104290. doi: 10.1016/j.apergo.2024.104290. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe growing use of digital technologies (DTs) has a myriad of implications to socio-technical systems, which are not yet fully recognised. This paper investigates the contributions and drawbacks of DTs to resilient performance (RP), an aspect that so far has received less attention in comparison to others such as efficiency. To this end, a survey questionnaire was applied to 79 academics and practitioners linked to resilience engineering. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics and a thematic analysis of the open-text...

The International Performance, Resilience and Efficiency Program Protocol for the Application of HRV Biofeedback in Applied Law Enforcement Settings
Appl Psychophysiol Biofeedback. 2024 Apr 24. doi: 10.1007/s10484-024-09644-3. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTLaw enforcement officers are routinely exposed to high-threat encounters that elicit physiological stress responses that impact health, performance, and safety. Therefore, self-regulation using evidence-based approaches is a priority in police research and practice. This paper describes a five-module heart rate variability biofeedback (HRVB) protocol that is part of a larger resilience program (the International Performance Resilience and Efficiency Program - iPREP) established in 2014. Supported by 10 years of user-...

Leisure-time and occupational physical activity and risk of cardiovascular disease incidence: a systematic-review and dose-response meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies
CONCLUSIONS: Overall, results showed an inverse dose-response relationship between LTPA and risk of CVD, CHD, stroke, and AF. Running was the most beneficial LTPA but the risk was similar among various LTPA intensities. OPA showed no benefits in total or any type of CVD.PMID:38659024 | DOI:10.1186/s12966-024-01593-8 (Source: Health Physics)
