Evaluation of changes in endolymphatic hydrops volume after medical treatments for Meniere's disease using 3D magnetic resonance imaging
To elucidate the relationship between vertigo and EH volume after medical treatment, we investigated changes in endolymphatic hydrops (EH) volume using inner ear magnetic resonance imaging (ieMRI) in relation to clinical results for vertigo and hearing after administration of the anti-vertiginous medications betahistine, adenosine triphosphate (ATP), isosorbide (ISO), and saireito (SAI) for Meniere's disease (MD). One-pot microwave synthesis of chitosan-stabilized silver nanoparticles entrapped polyethylene oxide nanofibers, with their intrinsic antibacterial and antioxidant potency for wound healing
Int J Biol Macromol. 2023 Feb 16:123704. doi: 10.1016/j.ijbiomac.2023.123704. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTDifferent physical and chemical techniques could be used to prepare chitosan/Silver nanoparticle (CHS/AgNPs) nanocomposite. The microwave heating reactor was rationally adopted as a benign tool for preparing CHS/AgNPs owing to less energy consumption and shorter time required for completing the nucleation and growth particles. UV-Vis, FTIR, and XRD, provided conclusive evidence of the AgNPs creation, while TEM micrographs elucidated that the size was spherical (20 nm). CHS/AgNPs were embedded in polyethylene oxide (P...

Retrospective study of risk factors for tympanic membrane perforation in the early period after intratympanic steroid injection
Intratympanic steroid injection (ITSI) can be an effective treatment for sudden sensorineural hearing loss or Meniere's disease. Tympanic membrane (TM) perforation after ITSI is a major complication which needs additional treatment. The purpose of this study is to assess the factors associated with TM perforation after ITSI. Effect of Glycerol Administration on ECochG and VEMP Findings in Individual with Meniere's Disease
Indian J Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg. 2022 Dec;74(Suppl 3):4110-4116. doi: 10.1007/s12070-021-02856-7. Epub 2021 Sep 18.ABSTRACTThe present study aimed to find the effect of glycerol administration on Electrocochleography (ECochG), cervical and ocular Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potential (c-VEMP, o-VEMP) findings in individual with Meniere's disease. Sixteen participants (32 ears) diagnosed with Meniere's disease underwent ECochG, c-VEMP and o-VEMP for both pre and 1 h post-glycerol administration. Paired t-test indicated that the SP/AP ratio of ECochG measures was significantly improved with post-glycerol administration. T...
